40d display seams OOF

whenever im previewing images on the display screen on my 40d i feel dissapointed in the focus of the shot but when i view them on my computer there perfectly in focus.

has anyone else experienced this? or know of a fix? or is it just that the display on the 40d is generally rubbish:shrug:
 
I may be wrong but I seem to remember there was an issue with the sharpness on the screen and it was supposed to have been fixed in a firmware update...I updated mine no problems but I cant remember where I got the update from but I am sure someone will point you in the right direction shortly.
Having said all that I find my replayed images on the camera are softer than on a pc even after the firmware update but its no big deal for me.
 
I made a thread about this earlier, yes.

And I worked out that as the pic displayed on the lcd screen is a small jpg.. then if you are using RAW then change your picture style to sharp and higher contrast (which only affects jpgs) the small jpg will show up on your screen like that.

This will only work if you shoot in RAW.... because if you shoot fine jpg then you will alter your main shot to those settings too.

Hope you understand what I mean!!
 
Think mine may have this little issue, i've deleted a good number of shots due to thinking they were OOF or soft.

same here i was getting rather angry!! specially as i was next to a Nikon user whose shots were sharp as hell in his lcd!! :razz:

All my shots were fine after i got home on the pc though.

So shoot in RAW and put your picture style to show as more contrast and sharpness and that will show up on your lcd.. problem solved :thumbs:
