I currently own a 400d with 18-55mm kit lens(non is) and tamron 70-300mm, battery grip.

I recently added the tamron 17-50mm 2.8 non VC to the kit and it performs wonderfully in low light and great d.o.f.

I have a part exchange offer to upgrade my 400d to the 40d for just £160. Is this a good move? I have heard lots of gd things about the 40d!

Anyone else made this jump?

I love the shutter sound on the xxD range opposed the xxxD range (sad I know)!

i upgraded from a 400D to a 40d and don't regret it for a minute
 
I did the same upgrades (lens to tamron, body later to 40d) and it was such a fantastic combination. Felt perfectly balanced and performed very well. I'd do it :)
 
Thanks guys! Think I'm gunna do the part ex trade. Looks a great bit of kit!

What are your favourite subjects to photograph? Mine is cars...
