Hey all, im wondering if this is a common fault in the eos range.

Im unable to eject my CF card as the ejector button just flops around and doesnt do anything when pushed in.

is it an easy fix if i take it to say jessops?

Not really heard of this problem but I'm surprised you've had no response from anyone.

I've had various EOS cameras and never had this problem.

It would be worth getting a quote from a decent camera repairer.
Would you be able to claim on your insurance?

nope the card has remained how it it came when the camera was delivered to me, i have used it already and it stores pics fine so its in the right way, just the ejector when depressed does nothing and the card appears stuck

Don't know if you could try needle nosed pliars to get it out - or else just leave it in (assuming it still works ok) and download pics from the camera in future.

I do this with my 450D because the cards are more fragile than the CF cards of my 350D.

How long have you had the camera? I may be mistaken, but from your posts, it sounds not long. Any warranty on it? Personally (and I stress, personally) I would not take it to Jessops, but to an independant photo shop to get an estimate!

i bought it second hand :-( im going away on holiday but want to take more than one cf card with me as its only a 4gb card thats in there already, i didnt want to try pliers as if theres anything keeping the card in i dont want to cause addition damage inside...

I've just had a look at my 350D and the button simply pushes down on lever which pivots and raises a sleeve into which the card sits. Unless something has become detached internally I can't see why it wouldn't raise the card.

The fact that the camera came with a card already in place would suggest that the problem has been there for a wee while though.....
