Just bought some spare batterys for the camera..
only thing is the original, new canon battery will not work now.
i have read the back of battery and the canon one says 720 mAh and the spare says. 900mAh...
any ideas..

The capacity of the new one's is slightly more but that shouldn't have any effect. I use a veritable mix of batteries in mine and don't have problems.

Maybe the Canon one is just sulking ;)

Will not work?...... in what, the camara or the charger? The non Canon one has a slightly larger capacity but that should cause any problems in the camera but may have upset the charger. What's the voltage of the non Canon battery?
 
will not work in the camera..
it is 7.4v both the same..
i have just noticed that the information that you can see in the bottom of the view finder when setting up to take a pic, is all lit up, every bit, right the way acreoss, and the information doesnt change or match up with the information on the LCD.
I think it might have a fault ...
Still takes photos , but has only done this since i put the new spare battery in..

Sorry, I should have said 'shouldn't cause any problems'.....

It sounds as thought you may have a problem that's unrelated to the battery issue Flyer. I can't why the non Canon battery should cause any problems.
 
I use a canon and a jessops clone battery in my grip together and they work fine. It does sound like a problem elsewhere... The small current difference should be fine. Does the charger light turn green with both batteries after a full charge?
