Can anybody tell me would it fit a 50D if I was to keep it when I upgrade this month?
 
no it wont unfortunately. 400d is a bg-e3 the 50d is a bg-e2n
 
Thanks for that Euan, hope you dont mind me asking. Did you just buy the 50D or was it an upgrade? if so what from? Lastly how do you rate the 50D? What are your pro`s and con`s?

No i dont mind you asking at all I upgraded from a 400d a few months ago. I got the 50d and the grip at the same time. It feels better to hold and to use. Its a massive jump from the 400 and i love the camera, biggest downside in my opinion is wanting the best lenses so you can get the best from the camera!!
