hi, i need a battery door for my canon 400D, can anyone suggest where i might be able to purchase one from ?

or go into somewhere like pc world, and "borrow" one from their display models

oh no, i couldn't do anything like that !!!!

Why not? They sold me a wireless router and when i went home it was already set up and had a username type password thing. I took it back and only then did they explain someone had returned it and they sold it on to me. Get in there and fleece them like they would do to you given half a chance.

i'm really struggling to find anywhere that can supply me one, i suppose what i need is someone with a broken camera that will sell off bits and pieces, i've no doubt if i try and purchase one from canon direct(if available) it will cost a fortune eh................

Hi There,

I have used a Canon repair centre in Colchester before. I just phoned them and they can get the part ordered for £15 plus VAT.

Seems a bit steep for what it is, but I guess they can mark it up!

Their details are:

Tel: 01206 843322
Web: http://www.camera-repair.co.uk
Price: £15+vat

The only other thing you could do would be to get a battery grip for it.

Hope It Helps!

Add £50 and buy a battery grip. Thats my advice. You would never think i had one of these on the classifieds.

thanks for the replies, to be honest i do have a battery grip on the camera, but i dont have a battery door for it, so i'm just being fussy really, atleast i know where i can get one now, but at £15 i may not bother at the moment.............thanks again

Exactly the same thing here. Just bought a 400d off ebay and it came without the battery door, eye cup and has a chip and scratches on the side. Plus the mark on the focussing screen. Advertised as immaculate :bang:

Seller isn't getting back to me, so I think it might be negative feedback time :/ (I don't like giving NF) I'll give him a few days.

Is the door still not still stored in the battery grip?

Is the door still not still stored in the battery grip?

unfortunately not :(

Plus, I've just realised the camera doesn't work without the battery door with a battery in - is this normal? Must be a switch somewhere that the door and battery grip presses to tell the camera the door is open.
