4 GB CF cards good prices

Went looking for a second CF card yesterday.

Curry's Exeter had Sandisk Extreme 111 4Gg at £19.99.

Went next door to PC World and got a Sandisk Extreme 1V 8Gb for £49.99.

I got a Sandisk Extreme III 4GB from amazon for £16.99 30Mb/s

I don't understand what the difference is between teh Amazon and Play ones :thinking:

They are both called Sandisk Extreme III with ESP technology - why would one be slower than the other ?
or are Sandisk trying to confuse us !

The old Sandisk Extreme III is 20Mb/Sec.
The new ones are 30Mb/Sec. It should be written on the CF itself.
 
Just this minute picked up a 4gb Extreme III 30mbs @ local Currys for £19.97 (didn't want to wait for Amazon post!) and their last remaining 4gb Extreme III 20mbs Ducati Edition for £9.97 :)
 
Prices on the 8gb Sandisk at Amazon appear to have hiked since this thread - was £33 now over £40...
 
Sandisk have changed their lineup. New cards are Extreme (400x or 60 MB/s) or Extreme Pro (600x or 90 MB/s). The old Extreme II and IV are old stock. It got very confusing with different speeds and numbers.
 
I read somewhere there is a problem with Sandisk Extreme III when using with 5D MKII.
