3D Smart TV Ultra HD LED television...cough monitor

These cheap 4k TVs have a bit if a following for use as monitors. The seiki 4k 27 inch ones have a great rep. I work for Microsoft and a lot of my Redmond colleagues have the 32 inch one on their desks...!

Are these tv's capable of being calibrated by a spyder?

I bet they won't be.

  1. TVs are usually Rec.709 Colorimetry
  2. Many cheap Chinese 4k TVs have HDMI 1.4 inputs

Not knowing my HDMI stuff but how is version 1.4 bad (assuming that is what you intended to mean)? Being that version 2 only came out End of Q3 2013 (from a quick search)

They only allow 25fps at 4k (if that part of the spec was implemented)

Quite a few of these TVs are reported as having HD input only with an internal up converter.
