Edit My Images

Hi
I want to create an Anaglyph photography and have read that you need two separate photos shoot at different angles.
Is there any way I can make one from just one photo.
thanks

I experimented with stereo from one image a while ago. Never got anything worth using from it. As Tigre said, you need two images each to be taken from a slightly different perspective. You can add colour shift to a single image but it's never going to be convincing.

The latest 3d tv/film work is using polarised glasses. Anyway to do it that way?

The polarised glasses still relies on two images from differing perspectives. The polarisation allows the left eye to see one image and the right eye the other. I believe tv and movies use interlacing to actually put both images on the screen at the same time.

Stand with your feet about 3 inches apart.
Choose a point of focus in the center of the picture and use that as a target.
Lean with your weight on your left foot, so that the camera is toed in to the chosen point and take the shot. Then transfer your weight to your right foot, and toe the camera in towards the centre again, take your photo.
Then process as normal for an anaglyph.

We had Clive Haynes come to our CC and show his 3D pictures. They were fantastic. Here is a link to his tutorial. Clive Haynes 3d Tutorial
The whole site is a great source of information.

Cheers for this.

As it happens, I spent a few hours yesterday playing with stereo & 3d photography for work. Very boring product shoot but we needed it for setting up some test shots.

The engineer is busy working out the maths of focal lengths, distances, perspectives etc. Me I just worked it out in photoshop so it's not quite right but still very interesting.

I've put the mouse on the front of the screen so the rest of the screen is depth, but it's interesting to move the planes around to put the objects, forward/behind the screen.

A few more shots today, mostly with improved depth of field and distances, but I was quite pleased how this one came out.

Obviously you need red/green glasses to view
