Over the last couple of days ive stumbled upon this as a serious concept, and done a little bit of looking into it
stuff like;
http://www.retouchpro.com/forums/synthetic-imaging/28943-fashion-photography-cg-parts.html
and to a less relevent but still the same sort of thing; http://www.retouchpro.com/forums/synthetic-imaging/20109-cg-car-composite.html
managed to stumble my way across a few more examples but i seem to have misplaced the links
what im asking though, is, im perfectly competent with retouching, and i have some limited experience with 3d design (which having come across this im fully intending on getting back into) but im confused as to how to best put the two together in a work flow
obviously it starts with a need for a new element, or a replacement part of an element, and then generating and rendering that element, but how does the 3d result merge with the image? i understand that photoshop has inbuilt 3d tools, but i dont really know how they work, and itd be quite difficult to render and just use the image becsause there would be a lot of guesswork involved
does anyone here involve, or has involved additional 3d elements into their retouching and image finalizing? and if so, could anyone share their workflow, or point me in the direction of a place where i can find these things being discussed in context, rather than just as separate practises
thanks
