Looking for a tv with Freeview for my sons bedroom ,preferably wall mounted so I'm guessing I'll need a wall mounting kit at some point .

Been looking around ,just can't make my mind up and nor can he lol . Budget is £300 ish ,too many to chose from ,so what do you guys suggest

Anything sony or philips. Got both. both are good picture quality and last for ages

Personally, I went for Panasonic. Previous one was over 15 years old and still showing a good picture. Changed to 37" a few years back and brilliant (has built in freeview and free sat) - mine's in the lounge not bedroom.

I've got a 42 inch LG Tele and the picture quality is absolutely amazing, buy something that has a high contrast ratio 1:100000 and a refresh rate of at least 100hz and you'll get decent quality with whatever you buy :-) also, if he will he using an xbox or ps3, don't buy a plasma because they suffer from screen burn. LCD or led is best :-) hope this helps

Not to throw more confusion into the mix but we have a 46 inch samsung and it's first class. Tiny frame/surround on it, amazing picture. Fully recommended.

I think the gist of it these days is that you can't really get a bad TV regardless of the manufacturer, they all make good equipment

Samsung....Always Samsung.

And is it just me, or is 42 inch for a bedroom just too damn big?

Big bedroom lol plus he wants it for PS3

No way would i put my tv on that :shake:

hence the 'scary' comment I made..

they have been about for years, easy the best solution for getting the screen as close to the wall, I have had a few different wallmounts and this is by far the easiest to install, and I never felt it was any less trusting.

this is the small version install vid..

That is brilliantly simple and I would have no misgivings at all using one, thanks for sharing:thumbs:

Sorry, it was a bit out of budget at that size, just highlighting that all manufacturers produce great TVs these days

I wouldnt have an LED or LCD as they all suffer from motion blur. If you watch sport Plasma cant be beaten and the rubbish about screen burn only affected the very early sets - Ive got 2 a Pioneer and a Panasonic and theyve never suffered from screen burn.

if you have a smart phone.. then Richer Sounds have an app which shows you how big the TV will look in the room you want to put it in... worth having a look at.. and it works too
