It's mostly a filler.. crap day hence the frown! I didn't realise I look like I have a lazy eye when I frown   Thanks Sarah! :D

Great filler!.... If anybody takes my photo I always look drunk!!! I blink in 99% of shots lol

Great shots Toni :) and a new camera as well............ very jealous :) x

Excellent I'm glad I'm not alone lol!!!

Really emotional looking shot of your mum there, lovely processing again too

Oh sweetheart - just seen this on Flickr - really hoping for a full and speedy recovery :hug2:

Yesterday's photo is great in terms of a real candid, emotional shot. Great work.

Sweetheart, remember that a diagnosis is a good thing. Your Mum can start to be treated now. You are obviously very close and it's your time to be strong for her and to help her (as you have been) but you need to help her stay positive. We'll help you stay positive!

My Mum was diagnosed with breast cancer and I was floored by the news. She had surgery, treatment and then reconstructive surgery and is, thankfully, in remission - it's a nasty, horrible diagnosis, but take each day at a time, let the news sink in properly and then do everything you can do to beat this. One day at a time.

I'm sorry hun, stay strong.

Really sorry to hear that Toni. As with Sam above, my mum went through the same thing too. It knocked our whole family for 6 as mum was the person who kept the whole family right and was always there for all of us. She had surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy and has been clear now for 3 years and hasnt looked back since. This is the reason i now spend time raising money for Cancer Research etc. Keep strong and be there for her whenever she needs you. Thinking of your whole family Toni. X

Thank you everyone. I'd turn my back on photography forever, give up everything else, for treatment to work. She's in for a biopsy on Thursday to determine the stage.

My Uncle was just diagnosed with terminal lung cancer a couple of days ago... so we're clinging onto the fact that she's getting a biopsy.. he didn't have one, they just knew.

Phil, like yours is, my mum is the glue that holds this family together xxx

Brilliant idea Toni! A blog is a brilliant idea, do it! I would love too look into everything on there! It's a terrible thing, but I'm really hoping for a speedy recovery! But definitely definitely do a blog!

Thanks Jake. I'm sure it'll probably make for pretty depressing reading for everyone else but writing has always helped me. I can't talk about anything to anyone heh. I've started it but won't to sort out the aesthetics before posting the link (if there was a blushing emoticon it'd be here)

I think it's a good way of sharing whats happening and dealing with it step by step! I look forward to being able to have a look! There will be ups and downs along the way, but fingers crossed it's mainly ups, and it's something great to look back on once she's beaten it! I'll be sharing the blog on my facebook and twitter pages! :)

Ah, thank you Jake :) I do all my divulging of information through writing haha! When I was younger and my mum and I would argue, I'd write her a letter afterwards to tell her how sorry I was and how much I love her :) But here's the link if anyone's interested. The custom domain will have to wait a a month or 2 :shake: I don't know why it's bothering me as much as it is but we just can't afford it right at this moment, even though it is only $10... we'll see! http://keepingmother.blogspot.co.uk/

My thoughts are with you and your Mum Toni, I know it's not easy young lady but you need to be strong and I can sse that you are from the blog etc.
Take care

Wishing your mum all the best

Regards
Vince

ps Your Photo's will be a powerful and healing experience x x

Toni I think a blog is a wonderful idea, it's so much easier to let yourself go on paper without tying yourself up in knots so much - has your mum seen it?

Wishing you both all the strength you need to fight this :hug2:

So sorry to hear the news Toni, but if you know you can fight it. I lost my Mum & Dad just over 10 years ago, they both died of heart attacks within 10 months of each other, Dad we knew had angina, but he was ok & Mum had no diagnosis of any heart problems, so we didn't get a chance to fight or say goodbye.
But you & your Mum can fight this & fight it hard, so good luck.

Toni, considering the cause, I'd be more than happy to donate the money for the Domain! And that way when you have a bit of spare cash you can stick it in a charity tin or something? If not, and you end up doing some sort of charity things, like the race for life, please let me know, as I'll be happy to donate!

Edit - I've just read the blog, and I noticed what you said regarding the Bronchoscopy. Poppy had had these done before, as she occasionally coughs up blood, and they've never been able to find a cause, although I think it's down to stress and anxiety (when I give her a hard time or we argue it normally happens).
When we went in for it, I also had to sit in the waiting room while the effects wore off, however including the test, it only took around 45 minutes. They just put that it'll take longer to allow preparation for time off work etc. So don't worry too much about the timescale. She will be drowsy and her throat will probably be a bit sore, but it went within a couple of hours the 2 times we've been in (once for looking in lungs, once for the stomach)

Hugs for you both Toni and like everyone else here I think the blog is a fantastic idea xx

Thank you everyone! Your words and well wishes mean a lot :)

She's worried about the bronchoscopy but knows it won't be too bad. She's just worried about how long they'll keep her in the day bed after to recover.

Jake, thank you very much. I couldn't take your money though! But again, thank you, I really appreciate it!

The offer still stands if you change your mind :) It's a illness close to my heart! Tell her not too worry, I'd put good money on her a 3 hour round trip, from home to home (assuming the hosp isnt miles)!

Thanks Jake :) I want to do Race For Life this year. If we have enough left over at the end of the month for the entry fee, I think I'm going to go for it :) Not that I know much people to get any substantial amount for the cause but every penny counts and it's the thought, right? :)

Toni I think you and your family are just amazing along with a lot of folk across the world that this horrible illness effects.

I will sponsor you on your quest

regards
Vince

You should! :) I would donate for you ! It's definitely worth it, no matter how much you raise, it's still more money for the cause!

I'm only just catching up, so sorry to hear the news. As everyone else has said stay strong and be there for your mum!

I think cancer is something a lot of people have had to either directly fight themselves, or have had a close family/friends that had to battle it. Which is why you'll get so much support from us here :).

Make sure to let us know on here if you start any fund raising or charity work.

The pictures are amazing by the way. Love how you're capturing all of this, it really portrays the emotional side of it all.

So damn sad that this is the case - I can't think of a person that's not been affected by it in some way :(

Hey Toni, was playing catch up on threads and reading yours hun, i just want to give you all a big :hug2:.

I know exactly what you're going through, and my thoughts, prayers and hopes are with you all.

I went though it with dad just over 3 years ago, he went in for a routine hernia, but he smoked that much that we knew that deep down there were other underlying health problems, and it was too late for him.

Just over a year ago they discovered cancerous cells in mum and she ended up having a hysterectomy. She's now fine and fit and well with no side effects and completely clear.

Just remain positive sweet. It's amazing what they can do now. You can both fight this, and if you do the race of life or any other kind of fundraising then promise me you will send a link so I can donate. It's rare I give to any charity but any cause connected to cancer I wholeheartedly support xxxxx.
