Daily 365 Photos 2013.

Great SP, Toni. I see what Colin means about the scale of the camera, but I prefer it that size - almost as though you don't see it at first and, when you do, you 'get' the scene, IYKWIM? :)

Thanks guys :) The camera and the blue frame are actually one photo; the frame is on my wall and the camera is hanging from a hook a bit above it so it's to scale but I agree it is a bit lost butttt then, like Sam says, you see it and it's a little "ahh :D" moment. Well, to me at least

Oh.... my kits lens had a rather dramatic meeting with my bedroom floor today... the floor seemed impassive and the lens walked away with a rather dented ego. It's all a bit crooked. Luckily, I only use that lens for every 2 or 3 out of 20 photos.
Me: Ugh, my kit lens is completely dead.
Mum: Oh right, how much will it be to replace it?
Me: I don't actually know.... the next lens I was looking at is about £189
Mum: Wow, that's expensive!
Me: Hahahahahahahahahaha. You have no idea.

Bless her

Todays is rather cool Toni, nice job. And bad luck about the lens :(

Thanks Phil! :D

Updated my signature... and realised, for the first time, that I'm a numpty ;) (okay, maybe not for the first time... hah). I did have 3 photos in Explore. In my great big flickr clear out, I deleted a ton of images I really didn't like anymore... those 3 must have been in that! :gag: Ach well. What does it matter when I didn't like them? :D

Oh no, what an ooops moment - but I LOVE the other camera right behind it in the background. :)

That's my lovely Olympus Trip :D No idea if it works... haven't used it in years :( I have a few cameras that I have no idea if they work or not haha. Going to have a clear out and just buy ones I know work from now on!

Yup, that one - isn't it one you used in a photo earlier in the year? Love the 'old fashioned camera' look!

Nah, the one in the selfie from a few days ago was my Olympus OM-1 :D My uncle gave it to me after he had to stop using it (some issues with his grip) but it needs looked at :gag:

Another creative SP. :-) Shame about the lens - good excuse to get a new one.

We used to have an Olympus trip I think. Wonder where it is now?

Haha yeah I left my shoes at home today! Really "brrrr"!! Thank you :D

You must be insane! :D I like today's official photo! Number 2 could also have a retake as I think the concept is sound. Number 3 looks like you sitting at home and messing about  but ever so strangely kind of works. You picked the right one, though! :)

Thanks  yeah, that's essentially what it was  played with it in snapseed and liked it :D

Is the snow still cold this time of year toni...? Picked the best definitely..

Ach no, it's nice and toasty! I'm Scottish, remember

You are crazy!!!! usually like to go barefoot in the house but not in this weather! Great shots and I like the one you have chosen regardless of the fact the men in white coats will probably be on their way to you right now

Did you find it, Lynn?
Need to ask my parents - it will be about their house somewhere if its anywhere. Also had an old Polaroid and there was an ancient box camera somewhere too. Probably all cleared out ages ago though. :|

I like today's - and you are mad going barefoot in the snow!

oh no sorry to hear about the lens :(

which lens is it?

day 25 looks cold, even i feel chilly looing at it lol

Ahh thank you guys :D

Tezz, it's just the Canon kit lens.. 18-55mm 3.5-5.6. The majority of my photos are taken between 1.8 and 2.8, rarely above, so it got very very little use. It actually had another meeting with the floor today; my cat knocked it off the hedgehog viv onto the floor and the glass shattered!

Like your shot from yesterday Toni, very brave of you. Also like your second outtake.

Love this series, but I think you definitely picked the best one! I like your processing results too.

Really sorry about your lens. I have the same one, and didn't really use it much either, but then I needed it for some of my 365 shots (it's my widest lens) and realised I really don't use it enough! Hope you can get a replacement soon!

Today's is simple yet really effective. The lubitel brings back memories :) bought one about 20 years ago, medium format for 20 quid :)

Thank you! It's a really attractive camera! I haven't had the chance to use it yet cause I've yet to take it to get looked at; not a clue if it works! I don't think it does. It's been about 2 years since I've shot medium format though... I always found 120 film hard to work with :shake:

Good lord, you must be tough, another good set and well processed.

Haha tough or stupid? Thanks!!

Thanks guys :) Tim, that's essentially the only time I used it... when I needed wide which wasn't very often. But for the 365, I know I'm going to need wide eventually! For example, the photo of the blue frame and the hanging camera... that was made using 3 photos. Two of those photos were taken with the kit lens... I'm actually very glad I took those photos! Because it was the next day, with the lens still on my camera, that the accident happened; if I hadn't taken that photo, it would have been my 50mm on camera at the time  :shake:

This one came out exactly how I saw it in my head so I'm a happy bunny today :)

Oh that is lovely, really like the sunflare - it just makes it.

Thanks Sarah :) I'd wanted it with sun flare but didn't have time to really get *outside* so had it in my head without the flare. Then we walked into our side garden and there it was :D :D

I love this one, Toni - the sun flare adds so well to it. Have to admit, though, at first glance, I got all the arms muddled and 'saw' a different stance!:bonk:

That is so nice Toni :D shows the love you have for each other xx

Yes, the flare really makes the shot. Nice one.

Oh dear on the 18-55 :( not good :( I have to say the other photo's you've posted since I last called in are wonderful

Ahh thanks everyone!! Wasn't the easiest to take; I don't have a tripod so had a stool balanced on a table with a small suitcase balanced on top of that then having to press the shutter and get into position in 10 seconds  Also need to do some reading about backlighting with flare... I really struggled to find something in the frame that the lens would focus on. But I think it was worth it! I feel super lucky the sun came through for me like I hoped it would :D Not to see what I get tomorrow... err today
