Been looking at the Canon 35mm f/1.4 'L' prime lens for my 5D/1.

Anyone here own one and what you think of its performance? Or is the likes of the Samyang 35mm f/1.4 be as good for less money? Any photo's taken with either of these two lens would be fantastic, thanks.

I'd been looking at the canon 1.4, but recent rumours highlight a possibility of a mk2 version on its way next year, so happy to wait, unless a good used one comes up
 
Haven't touched either, but the Samyang 35/1.4 has pretty amazing reviews. If you can make do with the not so solid build and manual focus, I would get that, as it's half the price... Not sure how it compares to the Canon version, but I've read that it has sharper corners and better bokeh when compared to the Nikon 35mm f/1.4.

Of course, if money is no object, I would get the L series glass.

if it's anything like the Samyang 85mm 1.4, there's nothing wrong with the build at all
 
yes I have it. It's exceptional. there is a review in the review section
 
I have the Canon.... I love it.. sharp as a sharp thing...
