35mm body suggestions.

Hi Gaz,

I never owned an OM1 or OM2, but I know they were great cameras. The A1 was really the first multi mode camera and different to anything which had gone before - really advanced for it's time and the camera which made Canon a serious competitor to Nikon as hordes of pros were quick to realise the potential of the various modes. It's probably the best looking camera Canon ever made too.

If you're interested, I'm sure we can come to some arrangement, I'd really prefer to see my minty A1 being used by someone who'll appreciate it. My 35mm needs are fulfilled with the G2 and the EOS 3.

Now I have the 5D I havnt really done much with the my EOS 3.

I think I used the EOS 3 more than the 30D (that I had) as it is much nicer to use(and maybe better results!)

Now I have the the 5D it feels just as good as the EOS 3. Also, the results with the 5D are much better than the 30D, that full frame just seems right!

Even my better half liked the results from the EOS 3 to the 30D!

I tried to satisfy my needs of a 'proper' manual camera with an old Pentax P30 but to be honest to feels like a sack or brown stuff compared to my old OM1!

It's going as a job lot - everything in the pic-including the bag.

Thoroughly disgusting if you ask me...

LOL. Trust me - it's nice - you wont find a nicer A1 anywhere. No shutter squeak at all - viewfinder is clean as a whistle. Complete with manuals for the camera and the flash gun. PM me if you're interested - if not, I'll stick it in Classified in the next few days. I don't want people to think I'm trying to trade out of Classified.

Guys I'm just letting it go for silly money now after two lots of time wasters on ebay. I need the room so it's gotsta go. ;)

OMG CT, you've got a bloody nice bit of kit there. Where is my spare money to blow on unnecessary but very pretty gear? :(

The price of cameras is so cheap in France at boot sales just go for the best eg Canon eos1 with motor drive for around 100 euros or eqivelent Nikon same price Ok you take a risk but what the hell if you give it a good once over. In England I can't believe it can be much different. As to exposure meter testing don't forget to do this at around 125th as reciprocity can set in and fake the results as can old film. long exposures can slow the iso of the film dramatically.

Not gonna get an F5 for 100 euros....
But if you see one....buy it..

Thread update while I'm here -

not heard a sodding thing from Dales, they'll have had it 2 weeks tomorrow, I can see I'm gonna have to be the disgruntled customer again...:(
I reckon some Eastern European manufacturer will re-release their own brand of Kodachrome 64, yonks before I get a camera I can trust to shoot this roll..:shake:
