Hello all. My 30D developed a very bizar fault today. It started to make a loud screeching noise that wouldn't stop. Even pulling the battery and re-installing it brought it back. It does it with or without the lens.

Any ideas?
 
Probably. But as money is very tight (having to sell my car before I can buy a replacement.. ) I'm hoping that it could be repairable.
 
Ah-ha! That looks like a good lead! Thank you! I can work with that and find out if it's worth repairing.

Strange, one of the comments also mention about having it adjusted if it's out of focus after repair. I've noticed mine of often slightly out of focus and couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong. Perhaps there was an existing error there.
 
I only paid £150 for the body so it may be cheaper to buy another..or have a go at repairing it.
