Hey Guys need a bit of advice, on the Photography ireland Forums, i have seen a 30D+grip for sale, this will be MY first DSLR as i have been using the wifes 400D, so what is everyones thoughs on this, it is selling for around 380Quid with the grip and has around 9000clicks???

If it's a genuine Canon grip then the price is about right....give or take £20 and 9000 clicks is nothing. The 30D won't disappoint you, I'm sure.

Excellent piece of kit and a good price.

good price excellent camera you wont be disappointed,

Yea its the BG-E2 grip i think, might have a think about it, will i prove a great step up from a 350D, i had my heart set on a 40D but thats when the missus got involved

If you outgrown the 350/400D srs then this will be a step up. It's a bit more solid, larger body, slightly better image quality and has a few more fancy features.
It won't take better pictures for you.....that's your job.

You don't say what lenses you have....getting better lenses will do far more for the quality of your images than a better spec body will.

right now i have a sigma 10-20mm F4-5.6 and a 70-200L so i am thinking lenses are ok for the meantime

i am looking body only so the canon cashback on the 40D might be a good option if it works out a wee bit more than what the 30D would have

I never found myself wanting the battery grip on 20D untill I started using the 300. With the 70-200 the 40D will feel perfectly balanced.

There wouldnt be that much of a difference between the cameras but if you dont think you need the grip then you might as well get the latest model.
