300 f2.8 MK1is or MK11is?

I am going to buy a canon 300 f2.8 seen a 4 year old MK1 is in vgc £2400.
about 2hr drive question is I hope to keep this I dont like parting with things the question is Im drawn to a new one Mk2 but just over £2000 extra is It worth it.

I love my 300mm F/2.8 IS it is awesome quick focusing and very sharp wide open. £2400 is a great price aswell at the moment, they seem to be about £2800 - £3000 for one in good condition.

As I understand it, the 300 has just about the best image quality of all the Canon lenses, and the MK2 is as good, or marginally better.

I'd very much doubt it was worth the extra £2000.

£2400 for a vgc 300 IS? Get it now. You can always sell it later for the same (or possibly more) if you decide you want the MkII.
