Bump ..... And the 30 seconds thing.......? I feel 30 seconds is a long time... mistyped searches..... it's a frustation. Does it compromise performance that much, surely it's an SQL thing server side? :shrug: It has been bugging me every since it was increased.

I think it'll reduce the amount of page executions and database calls. As the forum gets bigger its more material to search through and it takes longer. I don't mind 30 seconds. Lots of bigger forums have such limits and its understandable.
 
Can't see how it'll REDUCE them (unless people give up), just take longer to perform..... :(
