Hi,
Any body on 3 network? are they any good, or has anyone been with them have any info. Reason why is that I'm with o2 and they have ****ed me off and I'm due an upgrade next month and just thinking I want to move.

Thanks

i moved from O2 to 3 and found the data coverage sooooo much better.

on the other hand, just had an email to say prices are going up 3.6% in line with inflation next month.

Really? coverage better? :D Heard a few bad things about them but you say different.

down here (southampton to poole) they are better ive found. the data coverage especially.
So it should be better in London lol it's just that they have very good traiff's aswell. Just had a look at tesco moblie aswell very good indeed.

Tesco use to O2 network in case you were not aware

Yeah I have just been reading about that, the network is good but the customer service is very poor everytime I have spoke to them. I don't like moaning all the time but I have just had enough :bang:

3 used to fall back onto Orange 2G if their own network was not available, apparently this arrangement is no more.
I have heard something about the 3G signal they use does not penetrate buildings so well as the 2G.

There's no service from any of them here mind!
One day 4G might reach here by the sound of it.

I moved from Tesco (o2) to 3 and the difference is night and day. Up in Glencoe, for example, which is somewhere you'd expect all services to be patchy at best, I had a near full signal on 3 Mifi and was able to ftp images no problem. My Tesco phone, by contrast, had no signal whatsoever.

The all-you-can eat data package is great too -I've now ditched my home broadband as it was only giving 0.5mb (on a good day) whereas my 3 phone gives over 3mb via the personal hotspot :D

Keep seeing comments "Except 3" on so many mobile offers/goodies.

I got a 3 mifi on a recommendation of a friend. And after the service of that I ditched my Vodafone contract and now my phone is on 3 also.

I like how most people think its a crap service as it means I reap the benefits :p

Also they count you as a loyal customer after 2 years and offer you some even better savings. Thinking of getting an iPad with them next.

I use 3 for data use (iPad), and around the North East almost always seem to have a strong 3G signal. Absolutely no complaints with the coverage.

Living out in the central sticks we only get the 4 networks... Voda (2G only), Orange (3G), T-mobile (3G) & 3. NO2 doesn't even appear unless I climb up the hill that blots out their signal... even then data throughput on 3 is rock solid and about 3x the speed of Orange and T-Mobile (odd, considering all 3 are using the same mast) and Vodafone is like a 9600baud modem - O2's data is woeful for a 3G network (when I climb up the hill).

This fella seems to have a similar experience to me - but in the Midlands (Manchester) http://www.reghardware.com/2012/05/21/review_uk_carriers_network_vs_network/

We're on 3 and have no issues here. I can get a signal at work aswell, where those on O2 can't. I was thinking OS swapping when contract is due, but not so sure now.

3 also used to give the best deals as well, I think they still do but the difference is less.

Im giving the 3 network ago at the min. The 3g signal is awesome unlimited usage means i can use the radio app on my phone whilst driving. Its good for other things like you tube catch up tv etc etc. the only thing i struggle with is signal at home indoors. Im paying £15 a month on a rolling contract so i can cancel anytime. Give it a go

My experience of 3 was that when I got a signal it was fantastic, but and it was a huge but I hardly ever got a signal. Huge parts of Edinburgh were just complete dead zones, including at work and home. So despite the great deal it had to go.

Saying that Talk Mobile/Vodafone are almost as bad in Edinburgh :(

I'm on Three, my wife is on O2 and we both have the same phone (Galaxy S2). The difference in data speed is, to borrow an expression from Flash In The Pan... night and day.

A couple of weeks ago, I set up a laptop for a friend and I needed to download some bits.

This was the speed I was getting over a tethered wifi connection on 3.

The speed is excellent. I can watch iplayer/4od over 3g with no problems at all. I know this is all area specific, but in terms of network capacity, even at peak, Three is very good and much better than o2 or vodafone in my area at least (i came from vodafone, their voice coverage is second to none, but 3g, slow).

Been with 3 for long time, near 10 years.

The unlimited data on the one plan is brill and loads of mins and texts for your money.

But as already said if you go out of 3g signal you will have no internet as 3 no longer use another provider for 2g signal, its a fairly recent thing. That's no issue if where you work or travel too or visit often has a good 3g signal. I have good 3g signal at home, but I use my WiFi at home anyway, its when I am out and about it can be very annoying.

I am quite sure I will be moving to another provider when my contact is up

I'm on 3 and have been for 18 months. It's much better coverage than my previous virgin mobile and O2 before that. Lots of friends and family are on orange and they struggle for 3G signal when I don't. I've been thoroughly pleased by their in-store service when I had my phone stolen too so a big  from me!

I have a 3 handset and a iPad i used them both mostly in areas around the Northwest but ive been Devon, Wales and Somerset too and overall i find network good..
my only slight problem is the dreaded overseas call centres when i very rarely do call them.

I have a 3 simcard in my ipad and I'm more than happy with the coverage, especially as I work in some pretty rural areas. My iPhone is on O2 and the only places I go to where I ever get 3G signal is Cambridge and London! Thinking about an iPhone sim from them as well but I will probably get a pay as you go simcard to test for a for days before I commit.

When I took out my phone contract the sales rep in store advised me of the call centres.

He said they're **** and for a pleasant experience pop into any store and the staff will do the painful chatting to them part.

To me that was brilliant service that they prior warned me and gave me a work around should I ever nee to call them. An I never have.

I moved from O2 to 3 about 3 years ago, and the service improvement was outstanding.

I couldn't get any signal on O2 at my fathers house in the east midlands, but can now stream movies to my iPad through remote tethering to my iPhone on all you can eat data. I get a much better signal here in south Manchester too.

Can't say about other operators, but not impressed at all with O2 and pleased with 3. However I do hear my friends in south London moaning about 3 quite a lot, so I guess there are still areas that perform better than others.
