3 is on 1800 mhz so indoor signal will be worse than voda or o2 and virtuals as they use more of the 900mhz bands.
You are confused, Three actually run on 2100MHz, as does Vodafone, O2, EE and all the virtual networks for 3G.
Remember the 3G auction in 2000? It was the sale of the 2100MHz spectrum for 3G services.
1800MHz was for 2G use by T-Mobile and Orange (now EE), their 3G runs on 21000MHz as I mentioned and some 1800MHz has been refarmed to 4G. EE should also be commencing 4G rollout on 800MHz soon.
900MHz was for 2G use by O2 and Vodafone, some 900MHz was refarmed to 3G but it is only a small amount, the majority of their 3G is on 2100MHz and their new 4G networks are on 800MHz.
The only 1800MHz that Three have is the chunk of spectrum that EE were forced to sell last year which Three have used for the initial roll out of 4G services, they will be supplementing it with 800MHz from the 4G auction like EE will.
Anyone having problems with internet and signal on their mobiles this few days, it's getting ridiculous now. I'm heading to CW today to kick up a stink and try to terminate my contract ,
Any advice/ammunition welcome. ;-)
If CW means CarPhoneWarehouse, don't waste your time, they merely resell for Three, and have absolutely no control over the actual contract, you can rant and rave all you like but it will be a useless exercise. In fact, even going into a Three branded shop would.
If your service is as bad as you say, ie. NO coverage at all after having had service in the last, you can try writing into the CEO's office, either as an email or by post, lay out your argument rationally and make valid points why you feel they should cancel. If you are persuasive enough they might allow it (or offer you a signal box to use at home).
Remember the terms do make the point it is a
mobile service and not guaranteed to work at any specific location. Having said that, some people have managed early termination through the chief exec's office in the past.
