No idea what to buy.. nothing fancy.. just USB and 2tb .. just want to plonk pics on it thats all..

what would you reccomend?


I have two diff 1tb HDs but now need a 2 TB But the wording is a bit confusing..freeagent, drivestation blah blah.. no idea whats what
 
Depends how 'discreet' you need it to be - I recently bought one of THESE which is excellent, just plonk a drive in it and away it goes ... can obviously change drives as you wish very easily - they also do them in twin slots.
Maybe not so good for the lounge or where kiddies/pets will be but otherwise fine IMO.
 
Either a WD Elements or a Seagate Expansion™ External Drive (their ™ - I just pasted it). If you can determine the manufacturer of the drive in your PC, I'd buy the opposite brand (because I'm a pessimist that has been hit by systemic drive failures (due to design flaws in a particular range) by two manufacturers in the past)
 
If you're USB 3.0 enabled (or likely to be in the lifetime of the drive) - yup - it's about as simple as it gets... drive, USB interface, box and powersupply - no fancy-dancy stuff (to go wrong)
