OK, following the success of my last event I've got a 3 day event booked for 20th, 21st, 22nd June between Sheffield and Chesterfield but it's my mates wedding aniversary that weekend he can't help me out :(

So I'm offering the opportunity to a tog (or couple of togs) to earn a bit of cash by helping me out and doing what you do best; taking photos. We'll be printing and selling on site and I'll be providing all the hardware to print the images and am happy to cover the sales side so I just need a tog to actually take the photos using their own kit on my CF Cards.

The event should be quite large and as it is 3 days with an evening do on the Saturday night (TBC if we are covering this) I'm hoping to do very well. However, as I can't guarantee how well we'll do I'm offering 20% of each sale I make on the day to the tog who helps out, you could do very well or you could just get a load of experience and some great shots for your portfolio. I will also cover meals and provide refreshment to those who help me out.

I will be travelling from Stockport, so there is the opportunity to grab a lift with me from there if you are local to me and can help out on all days as I'll probably camp at the event.

If you are interested please PM me with some details about you and an email address I can contact you on. If you want to help but can only manage 1 or 2 of the days that's fine just tell me what days you can do.

It's probably obvious to everyone else - but - what sort of event is it?!?:thinking:
 
This is something I would love to do but it's a bit too far for to travel. Out of interest, do you have a predicted earnings for weekend, all things considered etc?
 
Im from Derbyshire Simon, but I have never done event photography, I'm still an amateur. I could possibly offer myself as a third tog, but wouldn't want to be your only backup. Can discuss further if you are interested. Drop me a PM
 
I'd definately be interested but i'm working at Ascot from 17th - 21st June. Bummer! :(

Events are notoriously difficult to predict hence why I am offering a % of sales rather than a fixed fee or a % of profits.

I have a target for £1000 worth of sales over the 3 days but whether I meet my target or not is dependant on a number of factors all outside my control.
 
Simon, I'm free all three of those days and live in Sheffield so that wouldn't be a problem. But I don't work on a % basis, If you were to have a fixed fee per day or event that would be more interesting, as I don't need any portfolio shots and not to sound too mercenary only work for hard cash.
 
:lol: the really silly thing is that I am in Sheffield THAT weekend for a karate tournament on the Sunday, I would quute happily have offered the friday/saturday except of course brat [the one doing the karate] has to be in school on the friday in London. :bonk:

However, if you really stuck or you get let down, give me a shout, I can see what I can sort out for those two days if necessary. :shrug:
 
I am free that weekend and live just south of Derby. I have never done this sort of thing as I shoot mainly indoor basketball matches. I would love the chance to do this sort of event but would not like to muck it up for you....please drop me a PM if you are interested
 
Thanks to all those that have posted info so far and to those that have PMed me I'm in the process of reply to you all, however, I am still waiting on someone who can make all three days that is happy with the deal on the table. It should be a big enough event to make it worth your while.

I will be on site from 9:00 Friday morning until 18:00 Sunday night and ideally I would like someone who can be with me all that time but I recognise that Friday may be difficult so I am particularly interested to hear from you all if you are free on the Friday (even if you can't make the other days)

I note that a couple of people are concerned about their skill level, provided that you can use a camera and produce a reasonable photo I am confident that you can produce the results that will sell. If you are still concerned PM me a link to some photos or PM to get my email address that you can send me some and I will reassure you.

The main thing I am after finding is someone reliable who I might be interested to helping out on other events.
