Yes
Hi,

I'm currently using a 5d mark I for weddings. I am getting a second body, but I am not sure if I should get another 5d or a body with a smaller sensor like a 50d
Any suggestions?

I would definitely get another 5D. Identical files and operation which makes shooting and editing seamless.

There's something about 50D images that unless they are perfectly exposed they look really naff and as a wedding tog you don't need fancy AF systems so I think you'd much more appreciate the better IQ of the 5D. Not to mention the easier system management...

Get another 5D. I was shooting weddings (and other events) with a 5DmkII and 5D classic but with some buttons/controls working differently it was a pain. Also colour handling etc are different. I've just added a 2nd 5DmkII to my kit to remove that issue.

The top rated (by SWPP and MPA accreditation's) photographer in Plymouth still uses two 5D classics with no worries at all about the ability.

I would take that as an opportunity to diversify the equipment, but NOT to 50D (weren't impressed with the output - might as well get the cheaper 40D). I'd either look at something 1D / 1Ds mk2-3 or perhaps 5D mk2; 7D in the worst case.

Thanks for all your answers, i think I'll get another 5d classic.
