Hi

Looking to replace my std 24" 1980x1080 monitor with a 2560x1440 IPS monitor for photo editing. I would rather stay at 24" but not sure there are any? 27" would be OK. I'm really after more pixel density. Been looking at the Dell U2713HM and the ASUS PB278Q, both look really good with the ASUS being a little more favored.

My card can go to 2560x1600 Max digital resolution so should be OK.

Will I get significantly better image quality with one of these screens?

Thanks

EDIT: Just found a Dell U2410 which is 1920x1200, Would this give me more resolution?

I have 1920x1200 screens next to a 2560x1440. If I had to live wityh one screen only, the 27" would win hands down.

If you're after 27" on a budget, you could probably do worse than this:

As are the Dells (I've just bought a U2711 I'm really happy. BVought from PC Buy IT who seem to be the cheapest Dell supplier I found (bought mine last week). Alphabetical list of reviews: http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/reviews_index.htm

I bought a u2713hm from PCbuyit last week and im very happy (and im a picky b****r)
After the 1920x1080 21.5" iMac the extra resolution is very noticeable!

Thanks guy's.

I had a 21" iMac which had a fantastic screen. The one I bought with my PC is OK but not even IPS! I want more pixel density which the 27's seem to have so I think I'll go for one of those. The ASUS PB278Q looks a good monitor. Just seen some vids on Youtube! hmmm

I have the Dell Ultrasharp IPS 2312HM monitor and for me its plenty big enough and really good for photographic work. Would get another one without hesitation should I need it.

I bought the C version of the Hazro from the classifieds on here.

Verdict: simply stunning.

Can't image going to anything less than this now!

I went for the Asus in the end (Whoop!) Coming Friday, I'll be blind by Monday!!! LOL

I'm waiting for the right deal myself and had (almost) sold my soul to the 2713HM. But then I got thinking that this monitor has a 16:9 ratio.

So, if I went for a 2412M instead (and which is considerably cheaper) and is 16:10 ratio, would I gain anymore screen height by going down the 27" screen route?

Would it be cheaper in terms of on screen display space to get two 2412M monitors rather than one 2713HM?

Hazro are pretty good if you don't mind their reflective surface...
