AWARDS FOR JAMES RUSHFORTH & PHOTOGRAPHING ICELAND
James Rushforth's Photographing Iceland has now won FOUR travel guidebook awards. His latest award, British Guild of Travel Writers Guide Book of the Year 2022 was particularly amazing as on the short list where books from big publishing names such as Lonely Planet and Bradt. James also won Photographer of the Year in the same evening. A big congratulations to James.
HARD TIMES BUT THERE IS ALWAYS THE OUTDOORS
We are just about recovering from launching Alyn Wallace’s Photographing The Night Sky. We’d like to thank all who bought Alyn Wallace’s Photographing The Night Sky direct from us (it’s not on Amazon) it makes a huge difference to the author, and at fotoVUE buying direct from fotovue.com enables us to invest in new titles and second editions.
Times are hard for all of us, and as we all know it looks to continue. As a publisher we are experiencing an almost a doubling of costs, mainly due to an increase in paper costs, they’ve almost doubled. During the pandemic many paper mills closed, and there was a shortage of paper, now increased energy costs for paper production are sky high. Shipping is problematic as well, with increased costs, sometimes slow delivery, and of course a series of strikes.
But we all need to get out and about with our cameras, whether locally or further afield. It lifts the spirits and clears the mind.
NEW TITLES
In January I will be outlining our publication schedule for 2023, including George Johnson’s Photographing London Vol 2 – Outer London. This will be announced at our website and by our newsletter. I will also be asking your opinion about which books you would like to see published.
