Not sure if I'm in the right section here but can anyone advise on 24" monitors?

I've always stuck with the old aspect monitors and now I like to move into the modern world and get a widescreen model. My budget is in the £250 region, hopefully I can get a reasonable monitor for that price.

Does anyone know the physical display size of a 24" monitor, length by height as opposed to across the screen?

Its outside your price range but I have a Dell U2410 and its dimensions are 56cm x 36.5cm the actual screen dimensions are 52cm x 32.5cm

I am in the process of creating a website for exactly this topic, monitorsforphotography.com I have been researching it for some time and is nearly done but it wont be finished until next week, from my research I'd recommend going with either Eizo or NEC as manufacturers. They seem to be regarded as the best for photography. This and this are roughly in your price range.

Thanks for the help.

You need to get an IPS panel monitor. You can get the dell 23" one from amazon for about 190. Also with having a look at nrg_it on eBay.

Any of the Dell ones in particular?

BenQ G2420 HDBL about £160 each. I have two of these LED monitors and they are great for all photographic work.
