I had that on the EOS 5, turned it off eventually, never could get it calibrated properly :(
 
I have heard it can be a pain in the ass - but just couldn't resist (as bloody usual!)

eos 3 is actually a cracking buy... its one of the ones that canon actually did really well on, above it's status. has all the pro features but at a non-pro price tag - good build and good AF. like the 1V if I'm not much mistaken. have fun!

Ditto, drove me mad, I got it out the other day and gave a clean, along with my 25 year old AE1 (note to myself: must put a roll of film through a camera)...Ian
 
Well - it arrived this morning. Eye control calibrated and appears to be working fine - just need to remember to line my eye to the cup correctly and its spot on :)
 
Looking forward to seeing some motocross shots with this lens.

I'm at Rowrah Karting Track, hopefully to post some with that lens off my 20D.

Still one of the sharpest zooms on the market today dod.:)
