I am awaiting delivery of my R6 and I wonder if I should invest in the above lens? I already have a 24-70 f4 L IS, a 50mm, 100mm macro and will buy 16-35 f4 so in a way the 24-105 range is covered. Is there any reason to buy this lens?

OTOH should I sell the 24-70 ( I have an option ) and go ahead ?

I'm looking to get the R6 and RF 24-105, probably in the new year when it's thoroughly debugged and prices have settled. For the lens you use most, in my case the amazingly versatile EF 24-105 MkI, my theory is to get the best possible. The new RF 24-105 is better than the EF MkII, which in turn is better than my MkI, so it should be a step up. It's either that or maybe the RF 24-70/2.8, but cost aside, I know I''d not find it as useful.
 
I have a sigma 24-105 art on my D810 so not apples to apples but, it is by far my most used lens. My walkabout lens so to speak.
However, I don't see why you would need it unless you sell all your other lenses, you're completely covered in that focal range. I dunno ?
