While we were on our last cruise P&O announced their 2018 cruise brochure. So we had a look and saw a cruise to the Norwegian Fjords. It is somewhere on our want to see list and the onboard discount offer was too good to miss. So we booked for the middle of next year.

The ship is the Aurora and going from Southampton to Haugesund-Flaam-Aurlandfjord-Sognefjord-Alesund-Romsdalfjord-Tronheim- StorfJorden-Sunnylvsfjorden-Hellesit-Geiranger-Olden-Innvikfjorden-Nordfjord-Stavanger then back to Southampton including 2 days at sea.

This ship is about half the size of the Azura so less passangers so get to know a few more I hope.
Looks as if my eldest son may be coming on the trip with us but has not booked yet.

Booking this early gave us the choice of cabins and decks so again booked one with a balcony on one of the top decks.

I do fancy a cruise but the Mrs isn't interested.

Thinking of doing the Hurtigruten ferry trip up and back from Bergen at some point. We'll be flying from Bristol to Bergen and doing the 12 day trip.

When your wife's favourite films are titanic and the Poseidon adventure you really know there's not a flying pigs chance of getting her on a cruise liner

You'll love it.. we did the summer solstice cruise there a couple of years ago on a similar route and it was awesome. At Stavanger I'd recommend a visit to Pulpit Rock although we did a heli-tour in the end as we weren't docked long enough to make the journey and do the walk, great flight over though.

We did the 7 day Norway cruise when they were still running Aurora (smallest ship they had) into the smaller fjords.

Stavanger is nice. Haugsaund was disappointing.

Had a free upgrade to a balcony too.

I wasn't overly keen to be honest but was much better than I expected
I like the idea of stopping in a new city everyday. Doing a days street photography then back for a nice much and a beer or too.

Yes was a good way to see a lot of different places and having the hotel move with you :) Hopefully got 2 weeks in the Caribbean at the end of the year, so many different stops is should be awesome.

What are her biggest concerns, as a convert I can try and help :)

Not on the OP stops as the ship is too big but Eidfjord was one of the nicest places I've seen.

I don't know, she's not keen on doing a all inclusive either so i think it's the whole canteen buffer style off eating. people queueing up and stuffing their faces.
