2014 Photo52 Challenge : Week 52 : Support

Many thanks to everyone for the kind words. Mum had been suffering with cancer for a while so the news wasn't unexpected. It's just not nice when it happens.

I got my mono shot done this morning so I'll post that up shortly. Only another three themes to go

Sad news Peter, never an easy thing to prepare for. Watching them suffer towards the end can be just as painful :(

I may fall a little behind with this challenge and commenting on other peoples images, as on Saturday morning I received devistaiting news that a close friend and ex partner died as result of a fire at his house. So understandably my emotions are all over the place at this particular moment and time. I will do my very best to catch up as soon as I can.

sorry to hear that :(

Whatever this week's Theme is I will get outside to take it for a change...I will...I will...I will....

Wonder what it will be?????

:snaphappy:

Maybe... Reshoot and... Err numbers ;)

Oooooo I'm sure I can get two done the weekend at the meet too :)

BUT... have NO IDEA when I will have time to edit them, away for work for a couple of days again next week DOH :bang:

Just finishing charging/packing, square up the spreadsheet then time for a kip - Good luck everybody

Just stick them up, raw (not in format) and unedited. :-)

I missed my chance for circle this week just gone as I was too tired to do it. I will have to just do some other thong for shape.

I know that feeling all to well, it has happened a lot this year, sit back and relax and everything will fall into place at some point.

Add me to the list too ..........I've lost all enthusiasm for my '52, can't seem to find inspiration for the themes and aren't at all happy with the last few images I've submitted
shakehead.gif
........... I'm also feeling guilty about not keeping up with comments on other folks '52's  :$

I've spent less and less time lately on the internet, what with the good weather and being busier with other things (although that's not always a bad thing :D) but when I do come on to TP I'm struggling :banghead:

So, apologies for the lack of comments, I have been visiting threads and looking at others submitted images and some excellent ones there's been (y)

Trouble is, I've recently been taking photos that I'm very happy with, so I've not lost interest .........they just haven't had any connection with the themes

I'm determined not to drop out, just hoping that I can get back some of the enthusiasm and excitement ( is that sad  :D) that I had for the first few months.

Cheers, Phil :)

Edit- rain forecast for this afternoon so I'll try make the effort to get round a few '52 threads :)

If you're stuck...take a photograph of a door number and move on. I know it's not the best thing to do but there's little point in getting frustrated with yourself.

I have an idea for numbers that I'm looking to take tonight.

Chests.

I think you have to see the 52 challenge as a long game. Over the course of the year, you will learn things, practice things, get better at things, and hopefully at the end of it have a few pictures that you are pleased with, and wouldn't have taken otherwise.

There are obviously going to be a number of themes that don't excite, and as Andy just said, sometimes you need to post and move on.

As an example, we lost our cat a month or so back, he was a solitary fella, and never liked to look at the camera, and as a result we never took any photos of him..... Last year I could think of nothing else for sleek, so I put Dexter in front of the camera, and patiently waited for him to look my way. Eventually he did, if I hadn't been so lacking in inspiration for the theme, I'd have not got this shot. Which is now printed on an A2 canvas and will remind us of him forever. :)

All very good points Graham, the 52 is a loooooooooong challenge, it's meant to be difficult, it is a very trying challenge, sometimes you will be inspired sometimes not, some weeks you will have time to do comments and again some weeks it will feel like hell....

In short, ups, downs and a bit of determined lunacism will get you through it :D

& talking of being behind........I'm still here....Just !

Finally edited & loaded my last 2 weeks shots to flickr , fairly weak submissions as been too tied up with other stuff to dedicate much time to the 52 lately . I will however begin the mammoth task of catching up with comments tomorrow night then post my shots .
& yes , it is begining to feel like a chore but I think that's my mid year dip hitting early so i'll battle through & see you all at the finish line....come hell or high water :)

I'm going to try and comment on two or three (slowly but surely)while sat in a Premier Inn again... also trying to catch up on emails, EE signal seems a bit weak for a change, normally ok at this hotel

I won't get to sit at my PC until Thursday night at the earliest to download my picks from the weekend/meet for this weeks themes... hey Ho :)

Yayyyyyyy , managed to complete the catch up....off to bed now :D I really will try harder to keep up from now on......

Just realised it's Thursday which means it theme time tomorrow evening
YAY !!!! well done
Evening all, just thought I'd nip in and let you know I'm not working Friday so I'll be nipping by to see you all. Have the kettle on (y)
Lucky fcuker :D

Evening All... Just thought I'd pop on and say I haven't even had time to get my CF cards out of my camera yet :help:

Evening all.

Well I'm off work tomorrow and have a few ideas for Numbers :)

While I'm on, check the TP52 meet thread in my signature. The venue is likely to be Scotland and I'll have no "it's too far for me" nonsense attendance is mandatory.

Sign up here I guarantee...yes, I guarantee you'll have a great time....very little sleep, but a great time.

Cheers and I'll be watching you :bat:
