I've just finished work, that leaves four shifts left over next weekend then I'm done! I'm into single figures tomorrow :nuts:

And as for Mozilla it's REALLY easy click on this download (scan) and run. It does everything else for you, just follow the instructions.

I certainly find TP easier on my PC (with Forefox) than anything else I'm using!
 
well this looks like it could be a lot of fun and a way to help me get better shots etc, is it ok to join in soo late in the game?

join in any time you like... the more the merrier :thumbs: you're gonna have your work cut out catching up on 44 weeks though.....maybe joinin for the remainder of this year to get yourself ready to go from the off in 2014 :D
 
If anyone has lost the smilies... chances are you are using the BB code editor.

If you can see the words "use rich text editor" under the window where you are typing... Give it a click!
 
I have managed to upload Sweet from Flickr and have another couple to upload shortly but before i do I have a few issues with the new site and wonder if anyone can illuminate me.

1. I cannot link the word Sweet on my first page to the page on which the shot appears appears? Clicking on the # at rhs, there are two alternatives - BBL code link and HTML code link. Do I use one of these and if so which one?

2. I cannot amend the title of the thread as I used to be able to by going to 'Advanced' So how do i alert others that i have posted my Week 39 ( or 40 or whatever)?

3. When I have looked at my thread in the past, it would revert from bold type to ordinary. It reverted to bold when further comments were made. Now, when it reverts to ordinary and disappears off the screen. I don't know how this is seen as an improvement.

Any ideas/help please :(

Not sure about 1 and 2, but you can click on "Show all watched threads" below your unread threads, and it will show you all of your watched threads with the unread ones in bold, as it used to be on the old forum.

Hi Brian....problem is solved....seems my puter doesn't like smilies when logged in using IE10 ( no tool bar , no rich text editor shows )....just have to log in Via Chrome ( which I hate in case I've not mentioned that before :( )

Flippin 'eck...I may actually be of some use here ...

1........are you meaning to create a link to your new pic from the pic only thread ? hmmmm...having re-read your words I think that is what you mean.... & I nnever had a clue how to do that so ignore this :rolleyes:

2..........you use the tab marked Thread tools I belive at the top of your thread......at least that's how I did it ...HTH :wave:

In order to link to the picture in your thread:

Click #number

Then copy and paste the BBL code link using the link icon.

I think. It worked for me anyways. Good luck
 
I don't do anything different, I just right click over the #number and copy link address as normal, same as I did on the old site, having said that I'm not certain my links work :thinking:

Ooo and I 'U'nderline the link so it stands out as it doesn't do it automatically...

<EDIT>Hey Alan :) Just checked my spreadsheet and they were not updated on there either... have you been posting your shots on the 'Photo's only Thread' ??

To change the title of your thread, click "thread tools" near the top on the right hand side of the page.
 
Hi Alan, I discovered to add links you don't use either the BBL code or the other one, the link is actually the bit across the top of the pop up box, if that makes sense!

And yes, you have to locate the 'show all watched threads' button to see all your 'subscribed' threads. On my PC it was at the top, just above the watched threads box, on my Laptop, it's at the bottom of the page on the left below all the unread watched threads!

Apparently this software is better. It's just taking a few of us a while to figure things out!

You are right DK - have not posted last 3 on 'Photos only thread' :oops:Sorry for that - makes your time consuming task on the spreadsheet even more difficult. I must try harder:bonk:

Thanks Marsha. At 3rd attempt I copied the link across the top of the popup box - you do make sense - and that worked.
On my pc the 'show all watched threads' is at the bottom and a bit of a pain to scroll down all the time. I still prefer all of the threads to show and then i can pick out those that I have read/not read. I often look at my own thread to post new shots so having it off the screen is a pain. Also on the previous system it was possible to put watched threads into folders. I had folders for general threads, equipment for sale, 52s in 2012 and 52s in 2013 which was convenient to use. Still, as yopu say, may take a while to figure out.

No probs at all re: the spreadsheet mate, it dont take 30 seconds each night... just most people use the Photo Thread to track new photo's, so your comments will be fewer :)

I didn't know you could usefolders in the old format!

As for this, I open the 'show all watched threads' bit and then save the bookmark as a favourite then that opens it up straight away.

My internet has been incredibly temperamental! I have access to small files on things like FB but on here it struggles, hence my lack of attendance!

My paid internet in my little cell like room runs out tomorrow too, then I leave Tuesday morning before flying off to the sun on Wednesday! These eight or so weeks have gone quickly and I haven't achieved half of what I wanted to do :shrug:

I hope everyone is doing ok.
 
I was so far behind that I thought I was finished :( Huge catch up and I'm up to date with this week to do :) Too far behind to catch up on comments but will hopefully look through some of your photos sometime this week :)

Has anyone else fallen foul of the compression of posts in the threads?

I have fallen behind in commenting but have made an effort this week to catch up. However on 2 of the threads (ams99 being the latest) I have commented on the later shots, posted and then found that there are further shot to later themes posted because i can see others' comments. On searching back thro the thread, I have then spotted a kind of line break, slightly highlighted (pinkish i think) saying something like 'click to see more posts' Then on clicking, the thread 'expands' before my eyes and many more posts, including photos are revealed.

I did not know that this had been introduced and , in all honesty it is a bit hard to see.
Has anyone else experienced it or do they know of it? And has it caused any problems?
