Ok so is anyone going this year, i am thinking of going, but don't know whether to go for the full weekend, or simply go for a single day like the Friday testing, i wouldn't mind seeing the race, but i just think it would be less busy on Friday to take piccies. Its about 1 1/2 drive each way and getting stuck in the traffic would be a nightmare, but it would be worth it IMO.
and the site receives a small commission

The Friday will be very quiet compared to the other days, but i think this year will be busier than last in terms of fan's,as i think this may end up being the last year for a British GP (dont forget this is the last year for the Silverstone) although i recon it'l be quiet on the action front too in terms of F1 cars on Friday due to the cost cutting this year.

Why do you say that? I heard of the idea of moving the event to another circuit, but nothing about the end of British GP :shrug:
It depends on whether Donington can do all the building work and track alterations in time.
Yeah spot on.
Long shot imho in most other country's it wouldnt be much of an issue, but with H&S and the weather, particularly if we get another wet summer its going to be a close call.
Bernie has already said if the Donny track isnt ready that will be the end of the British GP, he has a back up plan to use another country next year although is being very tight lipped about what, but he ruled Silverstone out.

I think the only 2 Arab states that have F1 circuits are Bahrain and Dubai, but they already hold such events there. No other Arab state has the money, bar Kuwait, Qatar, and Saudi; but these two countries will not be able to host such an event. Unless some 3rd-party investors are going to invest and do this in Egypt?

Interestig you say that, Qatar already host Motor GP and WSB (on tomorrow morning at 0830 on Europort) at Losail, that would be F1 standard.
Egypt are another that are deffo interested, not sure on Kuwait.

I very much rule-out Kuwait and Saudi because these two countries have very unique customs and habits .. something that may not go down too well with hosting F1.
For example, when Saudia (the national airlines of Saudi Arabia) used to sponsor F1 Williams, they insisted that in the event they win a race, no women or alcohol would be allowed on the winning podium. Now, imagine hosting a whole F1 without all that. I could go on with this, but I am not here to stir-up issues on social standards in these two countries.
As for Egypt, they have huge financial problems, the only way there is to get external investors.

Hear what your saying with Saudia, wouldnt know enough to comment. Dont they get sub the champange Bahrain and Dubi? Anything does seem possible with the right money in his pocket.
Your right about Egypt, cant remember who the backer is, but they want a street type track with the pyaimds in the background.
