As titled - i thought it would be an interesting idea for a thread.

Now that the majority of us have completed and uploaded the final images of gthe 2009 365's, what were your 3 favourite images and what are the reasons for them being chosen.

I have mine ready to post when i get back from my snowy walk, but would be interested to see what other peoples are.

My three favourite images are as follows....

Rebecca went grass sledging in Disley Stockport. The light was fading and i had the 17-50mm on the camera, so was always going to struggle stopping the action.

However the girls were having a SCREAM coming down the hill at breakneck speeds and i panned and hoped for the best. Even though the shot is no where near perfect it portrays what the night was all about - FUN FUN FUN

This shot was taken on my little LX3 and captures the Dippy Egg moment superbly. Its in my shortlist as its around the time i stopped being a 'gear-head' and started to enjoy the act of taking pictures rather than the act of using a camera. It shows that its not all about the gear.

This shot was taken at the Imperial War Museum in Manchester. Caitlin was getting tired and took a seat in the shaft of light. We walked around the corned and 'SNAP' Shot done

I like it as it just has that certain something about it, and is literally a moment caught in time, with no forethought, or posing to get the shot i wanted.

There are many more i like, but for more personal, less tangible reasons, but these are the ones i can explain.

Now...... What are your favourites

Just exported all the images as TIFF's this afternoon, and starting the layout later over a bottle of red (probably a big mistake!)

:)

My Three.

It had to be this picture, it brings back so many memories, many of them highly emotional. For those that don't know, this is my mums fiancée and my future stepdad. He died extremely suddenly of a massive heart attack during my 365. My mother was by his side the whole way through it, it was probably the hardest and lowest point of my 365. Even though this picture wasn't taken that day, (think it was taken earlier in the year) it felt right and proper to show him the way my mum and his family want to remember him.

A shot taken in Co.Donegal, my second day of not smoking. Still going strong, 6 months odd later. ;)
I love remembering taking this photo, I had both socks and shoes off and trousers rolled up. I had to paddle in and wait ages for the trout to stop jumping out of the water, the ripples could be seen over the whole picture. Anyone that's quit smoking will understand the extremely strange feeling you have soon after, if I'm honest, my head wasn't exactly "with it" this day.

My first published motorsport shot, I think I'm more pleased with how "right" everything went for it. I went and drove the stage the day before, map in hand. I found what I thought would be a jump, gained permission to park in someone's driveway and use their garden as my viewing point. It was the first competitive car I'd seen all day, probably the 4th frame I'd fired in anger that day.

Nice choice Jonny. I remember number 1 vividly and the emotions it stirred at the time.

Thanks Chris. Was an absolute train wreck of a night, my whole family is still feeling the effects. :(

Was this photo that showed me the power that an image can have, it must have been printed over 100 times. It just showed him as he was, a grafter. :)

Here's mine, in no particular order:

Swanage deck chairs - saw this shot in Swanage and had to take it quick as people were loitering around waiting to sit in the chairs!

I really like the ethereal feel to this - I cocked up the exposure and blew the sky and horizon out completely but I think it adds to the feel of the image.

What a great morning this was! Up at 3am for an hour and a half drive followed by a knackering climb up a bloody steep hill in the dark to watch this sunrise - magical! Won't forget it for a long time.

well - I didn't realise that there was a 365 section on here until about 3 months into mine last year, so I never actually joined in. I did however, get through the entire year (okay - with one fail-day) and cae out with a few I was happy with.

I think this was the first shot this year that i'd actually been truly happy with - i'd finally crossed the line (in my head at least) from taking snaps to a real photograph (like all you on here do...)

Another Milestone shot - it was taken for the POTY competition on here, and was pretty much the first one that actually got a decent number of votes.

And finally, a personal one, maybe not a particularly strong shot, but one that meant a lot to me. The description on my Flickr account kind of says it all...

"Sometimes during a Photo-365, the images you take are of a personal nature. I don't think that there's been one image quite as personal as this one. It's a shot of one of the Roses I left today in the Garden of Rememberance for my Mother, earlier today. It would have been her 74th birthday today, and to be honest, I'm missing her!"
