Evening All,

i stumbled across this link earlier today, ther eis three parts and the first two are up just now, the next one gets put up tomorrow,
this shows some of the most amazing, lucky, powerful, dramatic, photos, these photos speak a thousand words.

most of the photos are journalistic photos from events or news stories from 2008.

just a warning but some of the photos contain violence, but you have to click to reveal the image.

really hard to explain what they are, but thought you might like a look.

Part 1 - Link

Part 2 - Link

Part 3 - Link

Enjoy,

Chris

Some stunning shots there but the first image in Part 1 is astounding.

ye, that is a fantasctic image, must have been amazing to witness that,
there are some other fantastic images on that site, that i am trawling through, if you click the banner that says "the big picture" you will get to a list of different picture sets, just fantastic.

hell yes thats good... no 1

there is some other very moving shots in there ..

but imo some ordinary ones also...

md:thumbs:

A lot of moving photos there, balanced well with some positive ones!

wow to #1!!!

I regularly check the libraries uploaded on Boston. There are some simply stunning photographs from a wide range of subject matter.

Inspirational stuff.

They are flipping amazing. Loads there to aspire to.

And for the budding war photographers amongst us- are you sure you could do it and survive mentally?

I'd love to be able to 'try it for a day' to see what the experience is like..but don't think I could cope with it day in day out :(

cheers, JimmyLemon, did notice part three but forgot to add to post.

Chris, thank you for showing those links. A lot of them photos really do convey human emotions and shows the raw side of Planet Earth.
When I looked through those collection of photos, I forgot to blink as I stared intently at those images. Amazing stuff, kinda made my own '365 look rather mundane in comparison! :shake: :D

Some absolutely stunning work there, thanks for the links.
In set 3, photo 3 of the view of Earth, if you look at the Earth through the port hole, it looks as though the Earth is turning very slowly.
Dean:)

Thats why i thought i would post them, as i thought they were amazing and knew plenty other peolpe would think the same.
i know for a fact that i am going to keep looking back over these, i could sit and look at them all day.

i like all of them, but one of my favourites is number 5 in set 1, the one of the marine being fired at, we all know there are marines out there but never see that side of it. he is very lucky he wasnt hurt.

The one of the boy with an arrow in his head makes me cringe everytime i see it, but i keep looking at it.

i never even knew about that Boston.com website, think it will become one of my favourites and will keep watching the updates closley.

Chris.

Absolutely mesmerizing.I found myself just sitting and staring at them for ages ,especially the war shots

Spellbinding stuff, if only we could all be that good.

Shame it doesnt say what camera, lens, exif etc for each shot, be fascinating to see how they were achieved and with what.

some excellent images chris, well spotted

some pretty amazing along with gut wrenching images in that series
if you guys like photojournalism check out a book called '5000 days' which is a collection of the most news worthy events in the last 5000 days

I actually went to the Gallery and saw the prints - well it was totally astounding with 6ft prints of the most gut wrenching stuff you will ever see anywhere

I paid about £40 for the book at the time - but recently saw it on amazon for around £20

its a must for any one remotely interested in photography similar type stuff to whats seen in this thread
but be warned it has some graphic stuff in there
my 2p
cheers
Chris
