I've recently been browsing for mortgage alternatives and fibre broadband providers.

Whoever made that screenshot in the OP must have had a fairly interesting search history of their own.

I got exactly the same results on my work computer - and I've never used it to look at mortgages or broadband.

I think it's more sophisticated than just search history - they use your search history (and which links you followed) to build a demographic picture of you, which then feeds back into the adverts and search results.

So it's actually worse than I feared then.
 
:thinking: The suggested results have to be related both to links followed and the most common searches conducted by people after following those links.

If I type "Is it normal to eat . . . " the first result that now comes up for me is question #2.
I can promise you that I've never felt the need to ask the internet whether eating menstrual blood is normal or not :puke:
