I have a panasonic lumix dmc fz 18. I have fitted a besel high definition digital tele zoom converter t-522 2x with adapter rings. All shots out of focus despite changing all definitions in Programmable. Concerned that conversion changed to telephoto or conversion does not even select-turn camera on and off again! Splitting rings does not work. Please could anyone help. If so state all settings at once.

thanks

My bridge camera has a setting buried somewhere in the menus for 'adapter' and won't focus properly with a teleconverter on unless this is set to 'on'. Any chance yours has something similar?

I bought a 2X adaptor for the Fuji 602 that I had and nothing that was really sharp enough. It was due, I believe, to the fact that the adaptor was a piece of rubbish and not really suited for use with a still camera, despite being sold as such. I returned it pretty quickly.

i have set my fz18 to AF not on continuous. It hunts continuously otherwise. Have set set converter menu to T Conv when using Conv. ISO 1600. Taking pictures in bright conditions produces favorable results. Interestingly, grainer images in low light conditions produce soft focus shots that I like.

Thanks for your advise

Hi
I had/have an FZ-20 and looked into buying a 2x teleconverter for it but could'nt find one for less than £300 at the time (genuine Panasonic) so gave up to the idea as it has a 12x optical zoom which really enough for anybody generally, but I did notice that there is a facility in the menu to switch to converter mode but I wouldn't be surprised if it only worked for genuine panasonic converters.

Cheers Paul
