2 Off Camera Flashes With 5d Mkiii

Just picked up a second flash and im struggling to control them independently from the camera menu.

My setup is:

580ex ii
430ex ii
3 x Yongnuo 622c

I've tried setting the channels to A:B so i can see and adjust each output but they both default to channel A's value.

Is this actually possible or would I need to get a 622c-tx to control them?

In flash function settings set it to manual flash not ETTL.
Set your flash group to A:B
Then set one of your 622's to GP A and the other to GP B.
Now you can set any combination of power from you camera, in the group A and group B flash output level and each flash will work independently.

Ahhh, it was the GP A and B i was missing on the 622's! Had everything else set as you said, thanks!

That's quite alright.
It is a little more simplified with the tx on camera if you want to upgrade

Then try putting it back to ETTL and have a play with the ratios
