both cameras are good , a camera goes down to how it feels in your hand.
the canon suits smaller hands and the nikon bigger.

the camera does not make the images the TOG does

(S)He was last online at 19:00, most shops like comet and currys etc close at 20:00, so there was only an hour window..... not looking good for your jaffa cakes I'm afraid :D

Edit: A more helpful reply though, if the OP hasn't bought a camera by the time of reading, having gone through all 5 pages of this thread, I'd advise to just buy whatever feels good in your hand. Most cameras made by the big names are excellent, so get yourself started, and after while, be it 6 months, a year etc you'll know what you need to get next :)
