1st Time Wedding?

Cheers guys, should be a learning curve to say the least.

Another thing to say, yeh, i've done that before, i probably wont want to do another ever again, but its nice to try something outside your normal scope.

Ali, i know what you mean about the Queen, there are curtains on the windows, wonder if i would get away with working out which one is creating the light & pulling it over a touch? Worth a shot.

Good tip about the WB, will deffo do this for the interior stuff, makes sense really.

Outside, i will try my best, i've been thinking about it & think i may ask people to stand infront of the bushes (trees, plants, whatever they are) at the end of the wall, for couple / individual shots, then move people into the garden area for the larger group shots.

Basically, i think, i dont need any guests arriving apart from the bride & groom, i think? everyone else can be shot afterwards at some point? or should i be trying to shoot as many guests as possible before they go in?

Will do, thanks :)

Once i get the camera locked up & get the beers out i'm sure i will :D

There is nothing to fear but fear itself :)

Oh great... Over the Easter break I was asked by the best man of the first wedding I did to do his!

I would have dismissed it out of hand if I had not had this thread in my mind!

Enjoy it!!

I could say a few things but I'm sure they have all been said...planning batteries etc...

One thing I think I didn't see...and as it is family...DEMAND enough time. The bride will be late and this will (a) rob you of time to do some nice shots with her and (b) put unnecessary pressure on everyone concerned.

Make the most of every minute and ignore other family members who might be hurrying you...they will...;)

And HAVE FUN DOING IT!!:thumbs::thumbs::thumbs:

The next day you might go and sit in a bundle in a quiet corner of a dark room and wonder what the hell just happened:D

Oh and learn lots!

If it's a bright sunny day Id use fill-in flash outside, but if it's grey and drab like Mark's outside shots, is it best to just use natural light or does fill-in still give it a lift?

use the best man as a gopher
"bride's parents - fetch!" :naughty:

Id ask to take down the pic of the Queen, I wouldnt be happy with that either :D

I dont think id feel right asking for the Queen to be removed, may play with the curtain a bit.

Had to work away this week, but have a jessops 300afd flash, ttl cord and a cheap universal diffuser waiting for me at home. Would have liked more than a day to play, but will have to make do.

Any last minute advice?

Just a big thanks to anyone who has had some positive input
here, legends.

Had a quick play with the flash, thought i'd get my gear on & see what its like, not too bad, think i'm going to be up a while trying different directions & bounce.
