as i normally shoot one or two in the garage..

but was a good experience and i may do it again..lol

just thought i would share also i think they might buy a print for the wall so not all bad..

i know they should have been positioned better..

but hey at short notice i was happy to get all bar one looking at me...

md:thumbs:

Thats awesome! Why not crop some off the right hand side? :)

Good effort dude, rather you than me having to line up 60 people.

The only little niggle that caught my eye is that you can see the name of the bowling club above their heads, that would have been cool.

cheers guys..

looking good, nothing like bein put on the spot eh? :)

I understand your reasons for this Dave but makes me realise what a sick world we live in..:gag:

Times are changing and for the worse what with all the sicko's around.:(

I think you did really well.

Someone on here has the skills to 'move' people to make them more central, but I can't remember who it is and i wouldn't know where to begin with it. Not sure if it would take away some of its charm?

Well done you, bet it was a giggle trying to get everyone looking at you!

Good job, leaving some space at the sides (in the original, at least). For an old school photo I'm in, the tog was pushed for space and his wide angle distorted more than a few of us.

Don't shoot me but............

The group of people on the left make it look lopsided, plus you can't see the name of the club.

As the Tog on the ground, it is up to you to make sure people stand where you want them to stand, and things like signage are clearly seen.

Don't really understand this. You just say 'can the folk on the left move over to the right please'

i've seen it on here somewhere, a similar photo where people were slightly lopsided, someone with considerable skill, manage to clone or use layers or whatever, and move some people to balance the shot out.

I think with the time constraints MD had, its a good shot. A crop down to the edge of the roof would bring out the clubs name, even if it is slighlty obscured.

I still say well done:clap:

Ah, I understand. 'Move' people in photoshop.

No, really, it would have taken 30 seconds to ask those on the left to move to the right, and another 30 seconds to ask these in front of the sign to duck/move slightly.

A professional Tog has to have the confidence to speak up and direct people. Working at The NEC a few years back (as a TV Cameraman), I once got 3,000 people to cheer at the same time just for me ~ it wasn't hard.

Hi ..MD..

Someone on here 'move' people to make them more central,

Here you go a quick edit, by no means perfect, but didn't spend much time as the kids faces are blurred and a small file, so I guess you wouldn't be printing it, didnt get the 1 guy to look either LOL

WDYT

Dave

Simply by asking people to move would have given you the ideal group pic
Also asking the guy with the silly hat on to take it off would have helped the sign no end
I just cant imagine why when you looked through the viewfinder you didnt think to rearrange ....... shame.

not sure if you read the opening thread ..

but as i said i was well out of my depth with a shoot of this size.
i did my best with the time i had.

i did realise after about the tw t with the hat and the sign and the people on one side..

all notes taken if i ever get asked to do something like this again...

thanks for the edit dave very nice...

md:thumbs:

ps a pro would have moved the people i know and also charged alot more than a couple of quid and a pint.. you get what you pay for i suppose..

Sorry I dont accept you did your best
Surely when you looked through the viewfinder you could see just how unbalanced it all looked :bang:
Are you sure you didnt have your beer payment before you did the job !
Its annoying as your obviously capable of doing this shot , you just didnt think .
You are also right as a pro I would have charged more , I would have got a pie as well as a pint .:p

:notworthy:

:amstupid:

thanks for sticking to your thoughts mate...

next time ay

ill grow some balls ;)

md:thumbs:

I must say I really dont get it Dave when you say you were really out of your depth

I did a wedding yesterday... only my 3rd one, and with 65 or so people I just said "All line up behind each other in rows with the kids at the front.

It took less than a minute (as Ekimeno will testify ) and CLICK, job done. If anyone had straggled over the edge Id have just asked them to move in a bit.

Some people arent looking which is why I took quite a few, but it's just so not difficult. I hope you can have another practise because although the numbers SOUND like they will be difficult.. it really isnt.

thanks janice ..

when i say out of my depth maybe i worded it wrong  what i meant is i had never done anything like this before on my own and i just took the shot without thinking all i was interested in was getting a sharp shot rather than thinking about the shot in its entirety...

to have all those people "blokes " looking at me i felt... well not in control.

belive me if i ever have to do something like this again i will shout and holla.. in a polite way untill i am happy...

nice shot of yours by the way..

thanks md.. hope this makes some sense now,
