Perhaps format using a reader on PC.....and then format in camera! Why, maybe I think just swapped across from the other body there could be a body specific file that inhibits use on the other body?
yep, thought the same, don't that in many different format styles the different format styles won't on both Mac and 1dxmk2 but not the 1ds mk3. I do have other scan disk cards that do work so the slot works.
Are they the biggest ones or some newer UDMA standard by any chance? I'm just trying to find some pattern here...
Do make sure the firmware is fully up to date first.
It’s not a big a deal no got plenty of space, just more cards come handy for some day long sports shoots I am getting ready for that have different classes.
I seem to remember a little twist with the MkIII's (both versions) in that if the SD card was formatted as FAT32 then they wouldn't read a CF formatted as exFAT whilst the SD card was installed.
Now that's an interesting one to remember, I haven't tried the SD card reader yet, as I have missed placed them since getting the 1Dx that uses cf and fast cards
Just food for thought? A friend of mine used to have a 1D3 (in many ways a similar camera electronically) and the best cards for his were the Sandisk Extreme 3 8GB SD cards - significantly faster (in the camera) than any CF card we tried. In the 1D3 CF was noticeably slower than SD - the only camera I have yet found this to be the case.
