Yes
Looking at the specifications between the MkII and MkIIN there doesn't appear to be much apart from a slightly larger LCD, yet there's maybe £200+ difference in s/h value for similar shutter counts at around 20k.

Surely there must be more to it than this?

Interested Watcher here, i was also curious about this!

There are a few background bits, in the user interface, that changed but the real world changes are pretty much limited to;

Larger LCD screen
10% increase in buffer size (22 shots up from 20)
AF point zoom....allows you to quickly zoom the the used AF point rather than centre zoom and then shift to the AF point.

I had the MkII and pondered the same questions Re the N Version.

Forget it, If your gonna upgrade go for the MkIII instead.:thumbs:

Yes, good idea :lol:

I'll also get a couple of 1Ds MkIIIs too, to replace the 5D and 1Ds MkII, along with 400mm 2.8, 500mm f4 and the 600mm f4 (for when you just need those few extra inches...). Especially now that the £ is plummeting against other currencies, so I'd better spend the £ while they're still worth something :bonk:

Didn't Canon introduce the ability to write two different file types to the two cards simultaneously with the MkIIN?

One other thing that may or may not be important to you is that the N versions are all newer...

The N can write say jpeg to CF card and raw to SD at the same time Mkii can't.

Are you sure about that? :thinking: I seem to remember doing it with mine! Might be wrong though :)
There were differences with this I recall, although I can't remember what they were now.

Most of the differences are covered here I think...

You are wrong, you can wright to both cards at once in raw or jpeg or both together but whatever goes on card one also goes on card 2. Also on the N you can set it to auto switch so whan a card is full it will start on the other, you cant do this on the mk2.
