Could someone answer me this question please, I have a Canon 1Dmk1V, is there a way of viewing images, from camera to I-pad. I want to go down this route when on holiday, take pics and view them after, the images will be shot in raw.Don't want to do this with a laptop or other devices. Thanks.

you can use the 2 card slots in the Mk4 and remove the SD card and import into Ipad.If shooting raw it will be a bit slow importing.

I believe you can use an eye-fi SD card to send the RAW images directly to the ipad. Alternatively just use the camera connection kit available for the ipad and import the images that way.

Transend also do WIFI SD cards for much cheaper than the eyefi. They are class 10 and 16 or 32Gb on SD. On my 5d mk3, I'm thinking raw to CF, small jpeg to SD then onto ipad

This is what I am doing at present.

I got an Eye-Fi X2 Pro 8GB for Christmas and have been using it since to the exact same thing. I have the 5D3 set to write to seperate cards (RAW's > CF Card and medium JPEG > Eye-Fi Card)

I have the Eye-Fi card set to direct mode and then have the Ipad to connect directly to it. I am also using shuttersnitch on the Ipad as its a lot better and offers more options than the standard app does.

With the 6 d having built in wifi does anyone know if that will connect directly to an ipad? I'd always assumed it would just connect to a device via a router, but is a direct connection possible so it could be used when out and about?

Edited... More research needed (not sure what I posted was correct!).

That said, I think that would only work if both are connected to the same network?

Sorry if I am a bit slow here, will Shuttersnitch transmit pics direct to the ipad without any other wi fi equipment, where I shoot there is no internet access, it would need to communicate directly to the ipad.

you can send the Jpegs from eyefi card and that's about all. ipad doesn't understand raws at all (it will only see a fairly small embedded preview JPEG). If you import both, ipad will only try (and fail) to show the raw. So you'll have to plit them to 2 different cards, and edit all back at home

Both Filterstorm Pro and Photogene will edit RAW files on an iPad and the Eye-Fi Pro X2 will transmit them.

I have photogene (quite a bit of money wasted!) and it will only edit the useless preview.
I had contacted the developer, who then told me to forget about it

You seem to have problems with all sorts of kit that others don't. You must be very unlucky!

That is a rather very strong and discrediting personal reply mate :help:

Not really. Look back through your own posting history.

Almost every bit of kit that you comment on is either inferior or not up to standard in your view.

Now either you are massively unlucky, have standards that are way beyond normal users (and are not likely to be met by 99% of gear) or you just can't use the stuff properly.

There's no personal insult or discreditation intended at all. You've set the scene out yourself.
