'Nuff sed, really!

Fantastic! But Mrs WW can't half scream!!! I think I'll have to watch the final in the bedroom to save my eardrums.

Mrs Nod was at work for the first half; I was collecting her for half-time (and the first 5 minutes of the second half) then she was busy invoicing/receipting for the rest of the second half but watching out of the corner of her eye. As a side note, one of her students has a couple of England caps and she's had a couple more Chiefs as less regular students.

Fantastic performance from England, never really gave NZ a chance to get going.

That was the best thing about the game (other than it being a cracking contest!) - England simply outplayed the All-Blacks from the first kick and held it together until the final whistle.

Have to say, being Welsh, I am heavily biased but I have to admit, England are probably the best team in the world right now and should go on to win it.

Well done.

A day early to give up, isn't it? You never know, it could be an all-UK final!

No no no no no Dale.
Before today's game, the All Blacks were the best team in the world.
England winning it is not a forgone conclusion.
If Wales reach the final, they've got as much chance of being world champions as England.

Nope, hope eternal, and Wales are strong on thier day.

Ultimately, I'd love to see an all UK final and Wales winning but realistically, I'm not sure they can beat an England side that have just beaten the All Blacks.

You never know though, international rugby union is a funny old game.

What an impressive display by England .... fantastic to watch!

Nigel Owens was also superb and (unfortunately) won't be reffing next week if Wales win tomorrow.

Nigel Owens was also superb

For the most part, yes. But there were several forward passes he seemed to ignore. Even if he wasn't placed to see them then the TMO certainly was. It's been a feature of this tournament, and the conspiracy theorist in me wonders if there hasn't been a quiet word from the powers-that-be to the refereeing teams to let the "only just forward" passes go in favour of a more flowing game.

But that aside, one of the best England performances for many many years. Simply brilliant.

Hasn't the forward pass law been changed slightly recently? IIRC, as long as the receiver of the pass is behind the passer, the flight can be actually forward but effectively backwards.

I don't know how many times they showed that second disallowed England try and I still don't know if it was the correct decision or not.

Those two forward passes looked it to me though.

if it turns out to be a u.k final then its a win win situation for us English living in Wales

The "ball holder" still had one hand on the ball, so it was a hand off, not a pass which I believe should have allowed the try to stand. It's interesting to see that the only try the All Blacks got was through an England error to. It could have been an even more embarrassing scoreline.

Only saw the last 20 minutes or so as I was watching the Tonga v GB RL test but I did enjoy what I saw, England completely dominated. As already said, New Zealand's only try was from an error so they were a tad fortunate not to be nilled. As for the disallowed try, I thought there was a tiny bit of daylight between hand and ball so a correct decision IMHO not that it mattered in the grand scheme of things.

Good luck to Wales today, would love to see an all GB final.

Not to be.

Could have gone either way but SA looked just a bit fresher less knackered towards the end.

S. Africa were stronger and played a better tactical game, on the day they were the better side.

Oooooooooooooo :) Very true, but we lost to the eventual winners. By only 3 points too ;)

So did England (lose to the eventual winners) so came 2nd overall rather than 4th. :P

I was yelling at the telly for them to stop kicking the ball back to SA. It wasn't working and we needed a plan B. Maybe run those big forwards around a little. But SA were easily, very easily, the best team on the day. Every now and then you get a smaller lighter faster team who does well for a while - bit like Japan did - but in the end if your scrum is getting mullered you're a bit stuck. And I'm actually glad, that it's like that.
