I ordered one. I've had no problems with 1GB, 2GB, 4GB or 8GB. Can't see any reason to say that 16GB is going to be any less reliable  Know what you mean though :)

Mine turned up today, £21 for 16Gb inc postage.

Thanks for spotting it Dod

aye, mine too :)

Mine too! I took it with me to meet "Taz" to buy his 40D and I couldn't open the packet, really hard to get into without a knife and some scissors!

What a bargain! Is this going to be fast enough for burst shooting ***? If so, think i'll order one for the new camera!

My two arived today. Good fast service and a bargain.

Thanks Dod.

Hi folks

There seems to be a problem between this card (at least MY card) and the Nikon D700.

Quite often I will get a "CHA" error on the top screeen, and a "This card is corrupt and cannot be used. Try another card" message.

My other cards are fine. Problem usually happens when I take two quick shots, then go to Image Review.

Looks like a small imcompatibilty. It IS possible to lose shots here if your buffer hasn't flushed prior to the error.

Confirmed!

Just done some testing with mine and it did the same thing. Pop the card out and back in again and it works again ***.

Very odd!

Hi Rikki

Thanks for the confirmation.

In that case this looks like a compatibility problem with this card and the D700 - I'm going to return my card to MyMemory then.

Cheers :)

Ive emailed Kingston coz they say on their own website that it should work.

It also didnt read on my SWEEX internal card reader, *** it did work ok on my Dazzle and GTech readers in the office.

Weird.

Same card 17.99 from 7dayshop.

CLICKY

Ah.. but on back order....b****r!

Well its odd but - with two of us in this thread with a D700 and this card.. something is off, and seems doubly confirmed if you have card reader with problems too.

I'm sending mine back today... I've lost shots due to this error popping up, and while it all seems fine after the camera is powered on and off again, I need to have 101% confidence in my media, especially at such high capacity.

Yup, wouldnt have expected such problems from a reputable brand :(

and why does this forum not allow you to say *** ( t h o ) ?

I am RMA'ing at back to Kingston tomorrow for a replacement with different firmware apparently.

Interesting.. that they have versions with different firmware (internal memory controller firmware I assume?)

I sent mine back to MyMemory today as they have a freepost address (+72p to send it back Recorded)

I didn't consider a return to Kingston...!

Works fine on my 30D, fired of 10 shots then viewed them while the buffer was being flushed. No problems :D

:lol::lol::lol:

It's something to do with text talk. I discovered that same thing :bonk:

Mine arrived back in Jersey today as I sent it back due to the D700 "CHA" error problems.

Interestingly the MyMemory website is now showing only 8 Gig cards max as D700 compatible now...

I've not heard anything back from them as yet...

Ricky, any news on your RMA?

Well from another thread on DPR it looks like Kingston is the odd man out with regards to D700 compatibility.

The card seems fine otherwise, it worked great in my S5 Pro, but the D700 barfed after two shots.

Back up to £27.99 now :(

They are a sod trying to get a refund or replacement from - they've had mine back since Wednesday (sent it recorded so I can see the tracking) and they've not done anything yet!

I ordered one of the own brand ones, apparently it got lost in the post, when i phoned up about it they told me i had to wait 10 days before i could get one sent out again, i phoned up again last Wednesday and it was delivered today, so at least i got it, i have ordered from them before though with no problems, funny thing is the guy i spoke to last week told me they have quite a few go missing but when they resend them they do so using recorded delivery (which they did today) it just occurred to me why don't they just do that in the first place, as i'm sure they can't have any claim from royal mail with anything sent normal post although the guy did tell me they report lots to them

They probably self insure - it cost me 72p to sent it recorded back to them.

If they send 100 out, thats £72 in Recorded Delivery. Assume 1% gets lost - they are still up.

Just guessing though!

TG - How is the own brand one working out for you - any good? Does it get a  or a  or is it a bit early to say yet

Leon

From what I've "heard" and bear in mind this is really hard to verify, they are alledgely re-badged Sandisk Extreme III.

Off course you need to take that with a pinch of salt...
