16-24 year old - Our Future Stars! Or not?

Nice well rounded statement there Gary.

As you are clearly an intellectual yourself, I must say I am surprised to see you use language that I would associate with an uneducated person.

Why, it's true, kids are thick, no common sense and that includes my own 2 18 and 21 year olds

And why is it most of them (not my 2) seem to want to speak like rastafarians and do the finger dance as a method of meeting and greeting

Now im not saying kids arent intelligent, lots are including mine, just thick.

Genetics?

How can a father come on an open forum and call his own kids thick?

I would never dream of calling any kid thick. Just because they dont behave how you want them to

The best chess player in our middle school was in the "special needs" class

Bully for you then, my kids behaviour is absolutely fine, much the same as any other 18 and 21 year old

So whats your point with this one, Just because someone is classed as "special needs" doesn't make them thick or unintelligent, i certainally never said that, but you alluded have to it with that statement, my friends daughter has downs and is classed as "special needs" (not a term her parents like) but is one of the most intelligent kids ive ever had the pleasure to come across, some of the most "special needs" kids are the most gifted and talented there are, you never heard of Autism, Aspergias etc, etc. I really think you shouldn't bring "special needs" into this discussion at all, its a totally different ballpark.

Simple really because for far to many people "special needs" = thick

Thats why I don't like the word thick.
