15ins. of snow here!!...now 18ins.!! now 21ins!!..was 24ins!!

After David's post saying he had snow on the North coast, we were expecting a bit down here an hour or so later - not a flake! Colder than a witche's nurple outside still - cat not enjoying her toilet outings, so we're expecting litter tray usage later! Won't be surprised if we can't get out of the road later and I'm buggered if I'm going to be the kind hearted soul who grits it this year! (Last year, the council sent a small gritting team to do it who drove to the bottom of the cul-de-sac then slid all over the place on the way back up while the shovellers were trying to spread the grit...)

we had 2 few minute flurries here, didn't settle by the sea but did a bit further inland only about a cm deep in the garden

Plenty snowfall round Tyne and Wear, the sunset is giving everything a rather awesome looking glow.

A few pics from a walk outside..

Not got as much snow as the OP has, about 6-7 inches...however last night we had THUNDERSNOW

It would have been enjoyable if I hadn't been stuck walking back home sue to the lack of a bus.

I tried to go out in my wheelchair...... fail.....

Natt,
Did you watch "Landward" BBC2 Scotland Friday night, they showed a 4WD wheelchair. Maybe Iplayer it.
Probably horrendously expensive though !

you soooo need tank tracks, I think we could make it a tp project :D
Haha! Don't you think you guys have done enough for me already? Could you imagine me zooming around with tyre tracks! LOL - I'm dangerous enough without riding something that looks like this...

Ahh, I saw a beauty of a wheelchair once (well, what I thought at the time anyway) it was called the iBot - could climb stairs and alsorts. At the time it was about £30k and would only go about 6 miles on a full charge! Eek!

South West Scotland - woke up to a small dusting in Argyll, but nothing ground breaking. We usually get it last or not at all, but who knows.

2" at the farm - stayed in till 11am then went taxiing in Cambuslang [south of Glasgow]

no trouble in 'posh areas' but no salt/grit in the 'estates'.....

freezing cold in stone-built cottage - am using only 2 rooms - smaller bedroom where PC office is, and kitchen - which is now 9deg...:lol:

god knows what the electric bill is, as the heaters in the 3 tropical fish tanks are now "ON" for 24/7

ahhhh....country living.....even the stupid birds have sense to go south

Ugh, only got about 1 or 2" here last night. Still managed to have some fun in a car park this morning though, 4WD drifting oh yeah... :D

Hope we get a lot more soon!!

We must be at the centre of the worst of it as the Weather news is focused on Alnwick.

I think everyone should move to sunny Colchester. We have a staggering 0mm of snow coverage!

I want snoooooooow!

Not fair!

looking outside the window now, there is a nice coating of frost outside :)

Lucky you..:) more snow is falling tonight, about another 3 ins so far!!

We dont have anymore but the temp is -6 right now so what we have got is now ice

Decided to stop off for a few snaps as there were so few people out, and then ended up spending the evening at A&E after my wife decided to slip and fall on the ice and break her ankle :(

Whoops Typo error going to Nottingham tomorrow instead of Norfolk, then Islington Sunday then Alton Towers Monday.

Anyone going to the parade at Ringwood next Friday eve? we will be parading reindeer there, so come along and see me afterwards, if you want, would love a coffee :D

How lovely Nicki, having reindeer. Do you live on a farm and have them there?

We've had about a foot of snow since last night. It's coming down hard now with thunder and lightning which is odd.

Nothing at all on the South Coast.

Was going to add a :(
but thinking about the havoc it caused in Jan, I think a :D is a bit more appropriate!!

we got more coming down on top of the ice and Im at work at 5am.............great

Still no snow here, my excuse for nabbing the newly registered X-Trail Tekna are wearing thin lol...

We just had what can only be described as the heaviest snowfall I personally have ever seen, all the footprints in the old snow have vanished and it looks quite deep now, looking at the main road the traffic is at standstill and the road has a good covering maybe 3-4 inches all within 1 hr and its still coming down

I strongly suspect that the garage nabbed mine (X-Trail) when it went in for a service last year as they kept it longer than necessary "because of the snow". They asked me this year why I did not go back to them for the service - I mentioned what I suspected and had already put it on their feedback form - no denials were issued so they lost the servicing of four family cars because of that and a few other problems!!

Am a Sales Controller for Nissan so can guarentee it most defiantely isn't a customers car, if any member of staff decided to take a customer car off site without the express permission of the customer there would be extremely serious repurcussions! Nobody here would consider it as it would not be worth losing their job over.

When I say nabbed, it is one of our cars, perk of the job :)

If a garage had taekn your car for that purpose I would have been speaking directly with the Dealer Principal!

No snow here, my son is dying to try out the sledge his grandad has made him.

Looks like a very early night for me if I am to get into work tomorrow, the roads are now gridlock here and sirens flying around all over but still no gritters, and yes its still coming down...........we have just watched a scooby try to park up and the owner has abandoned it....

The snow isnt the problem, its the ice under the snow thats caused him to not be able to park it properly

About -1 here, but still clear skies and little wind. Still no white stuff.

Temp was -8 here at 11am but was 2 at 2pm then the snow came heavy and now its back to -2 so we are expecting another -10 here tonight

Here in Argyll we've had a good amount of snow today. I woke up at about midday with about 2 inches on the ground and still falling thick and fast. It ceased around 3pm with probably 6-8 inches easy - and I wouldn't be surprised if we get more once the showers come in with the cold front.

It's quite nice really, we haven't had a good proper snowfall like this for around 10 or so years, when I was a tot. nice to see some proper winter weather again, instead of the pathetic snizzle we usually get, which looks like the place has been sprinkled with salt, and melts in an hour

Just had another big fall and now visibility is down due to freezing fog, so we have a double whammy now for those brave or stupid enough to take their cars out on unnecessary journeys.

I hope that your wife makes a speedy recovery, Dave.

Thanks, couldn't have happened at a worse time (if there ever could be a good time), it took 5 hours at the A&E because it was a never-ending stream of broken bones and car accident victims.

Though I'm sure the plaster to the knee means my share of housework is going to be increasing for the next few weeks :(
