15ft waves tomorrow - Redcar

I'm just a bit further north, wonder if they'll reach here? Nice pier with a lighthouse (Roker, Sunderland) at the end :)
Waves often spray higher than it during heavy seas and the pics been done to death locally but another wouldn't hurt?

That's my day sorted then. :) I was shooting in Saltburn this morning, which is just a few miles along from Redcar.

I reckon the best place to go will be South Gare. The waves get pretty enormous up against the breakwater there. In fact, I was almost dragged into the sea by one when I was younger.

Thanks for the heads up.

Beats me.

I hadn't looked at the link until after I posted, and it's a shame it's meant to peak late in the afternoon, as I have other plans at that time. Ah well.

If you decide to make the effort Graham, make sure you post up about it, and I can keep an eye out for you. If it's dry, at least. If the weather is anything like it is now then I'll be staying indoors for the duration!

Wow fantastic shots Mark, nice one. I wonder if those drivers knew these waves were predicted lol.
might be worth posting these in the General photo section.

Wow, the waves definitely got a bit rougher later in the day!

Not as impressive, but these were the ones in Redcar at around 2pm.
