Anyone know how the video on this model stacks up? Is it okay, average crap??
I'm just starting to look into making videos of product and presenting it face to face rather than via pictures and text, but my budget and desire for huge learning curves is limited.

Any advice appreciated.

If you are buying for video I would recommend the Canon 550D on a limited budget or if you can afford a 600D it will give you control over sound levels without having to use third party firmware and will also give you the vari-angle screen.

Thanks for the replies, I think I may take your advice, I just wondered if anyone had used the 1100d and what they thought of the video. I don't know about anyone else but when I try to save any money on spec I always end up regretting it in some way. The trouble is knowing what is 'good enough' ??????

nothing might be good enough. but 550d + is a good start. obviously it can't compete with arriflex , red one etc. personally I do think that 550d is good enough. lights , lenses , tripods, audio, dollies etc - that's a different story, that is where you loose most of the money for equipment.

Sounds like the 1100d won't be any good then, even though no one commented on it specifically.

Not a good sign for the 1100d is it.:)

just trust us. I don't think that there is a need to go into details.
although you could probably easily compare them in dpreview.com .

as a still camera 1100d is great. with ok lenses obviously.
